    240sx or Supra?

just gonna make a note here that 240sx's generally get poor gas mileage.... from what I've seen, my supra get better mileage... not by a small margin either... my turbo gets about 29, it'd probably do 30 if I tossed the PS (done it before) the N/A supra on the other hand.... gets about...

2jz vs 7m reliablity? hope this isnt too noob of a question.

from what I've seen the 7m is less prone to get crank walk, I was talking with my buddy about this the other day. way I see it your best option would be a three-parter 1. use a centerforce PP (less initial load, more load applied as rotation causes weight to shift onto the diaphram) 2. disable...

    ACT extreme PP causing crankwalk??

hrm... but a lot of guys that did this still got crankwalk (mostly mkiv guys from what I've seen) if an accusump will move oil to all the vital parts before startup, this should solve the issue I would think?

new motor..... what to swap in?

this is true  not entirely true... you could always put a turbo on the n/a and just swap the appropriate hardware.... a lil bit of a pain, but not something that requires an entire engine swap by any means.... sure, it'll be just as much work almost... but you won't need another...

    ACT extreme PP causing crankwalk??

feel like I'm getting paranoid here, but I'm reading that heavier PP's can cause crankwalk due to increased load on the thrust bearing on startup? I'm assuming an accusump would be a good precautionary measure here? :icon_neut just don't want this supra to take the route of most of the ones...

new motor..... what to swap in?

quite precisely why i specified the advantages of the 2 valve *facepalm there is no reason a 4 valve swap would cost more or less, it all relates directly to your method of aquisition, installation, and your personal resources... think outside the box guys forgive me for thinking a single...

new motor..... what to swap in?

heh, I bet I could do a VK45 for much less than that, but there would be many favors called in -_- only question is.... raspy 2 valve american muscle.... OR baller 4 valve OHC setup.... the 2 valve setup is advantageous for many reasons... more power, low center of gravity, less mass...

    Divorced Down Pipes

since it had no divider, wouldn't you just have a constant exhaust leak making a lot of noise?

    Divorced Down Pipes

you are talking about the same engine turbo, though right? I've heard all sorts of theories on the matter... maybe your divided one actually seats perfectly, so it operates as intended?

The good the bad and the ugly.

hm... I lived with a several personal friends, when my car was down, they didn't mind if I rode along, I didn't mind either... then again, when you live at the same place, and go to all the same places you/they would anyhow, I can't see how that would annoy anyone.

    Divorced Down Pipes

I'd imagine w/ out the divider there's a sight more turbulence inhibiting flow. pretty simple concept.

The good the bad and the ugly.

I was driving my DD 89 to work one awesome morning, spin the tires and slam it into 2nd (tires still spinning) POW! something broke. my syncros wouldn't work, and it seemed like my clutch wouldn't disengage. had a fun trip back home and to the repair shop. good: my clutch was a POS, I...

    Divorced Down Pipes

I got a bellmouth DP recently that had a rounded flange on the upper part :-/ needs to be machined flat. also... DDP will alert people in a 2+ mile radius. I've been told my car could be heard ~2.5 miles out.

I personally like going down to the strip at the oceanfront, and opening the wastegate for just a split second, just long enough to confuse the hell out of everyone

Extreme modification Legality (for the street)

    issues with fcd?

that's not all it does. fooling your ecu into thinking it's taking in less air will alter your timing maps too, no bueno  that's pretty funny :biglaugh:
