Did you buy the ARP Bolts, or the ARP studs (there is a difference). Replace every single hose you can while you have all the parts off the car (especially coolant lines). Do as many gaskets as you can too. I cannot recall which ones I did during my top end rebuild. If i came across something...
Ah yes! After reading lots about code 51, it all makes sense now. I have verified TB is completely closed, even when linkage disconnected. Car IS 20 years old, cant hurt to replace then adjust the new TPS.
I am going to assume a bad or misadjusted TPS can also be the cause of a rich condition...
Ill start by listing mods I have:
BOV, BIC DDP - no cat, Mishimoto rad, AEM Tru-Boost controller, AEM Wideband.
ALL vacuum lines are brand new and checked over many times.
First problem:
Car sometimes runs rich under vacuum (foot off the gas) when cruising in gear, say at 60kmh. I can be...
BOV = Blow Off Valve (Venting to atmosphere)
BPV = Bypass Valve (Recirculates back into intake)
Bugs me when people say "stock bov" and "bov vented to asmotphere"
I never had any stalling issues what so ever on my old stock Supra with a SSQV, but this supra came with some cheapo bov, and it...
Just wanted some opinions on these...

Interesting... never knew the Toyota red is actually better than the green generic "Prestone" stuff most autoparts places sell.. Time for a trip to the dealership
Figured. Anything to keep the engine clean and healthy never hurts. Not a fan of the water wetter stuff, I just stick to 50/50 mixture, and our track here never hassles me about it.
I apologize if this may be a LITTLE off topic, but I have to ask... Differences between Tap water or distilled water within the 50/50 mixture? I know tap water contains minerals etc that can "leave deposits" over time in the cooling system. Is it a preferred method for our cars (or any cars in...
removing the head is not in my to-do list right now. Head gasket was done properly by previous owner with ARP hardware... but "forgot" to do the valve seals. I am doing a 2JZ swap in less than 6 months, so I just wanted these valve seals changed out to tie me through.
Yeah, I know what you mean with the perches on the Bilstein... but even if it were at the top setting, still loose in there. (I mocked it up, even 1/2" plus ABOVE the perch, still somewhat loose. Owell.
Just installing my H&R Springs on Bilstein shocks, doing the front right now. When the spring is on the shock, and the top mount is on and tightened, the spring is free to move, and not snug in between the top and bottom mount. (unless of course the weight of the car is on the shock) Is this...
I am thinking of taking all necessary parts off myself at home, and get a free tow to the machine shop to get it all done. Good to know it CAN be done with the head on. Has anyone had a machine shop do this, or know a vague price range I should be looking at?...
Is it at all possible for me, or a machine shop to replace my valve stem seals with the head on? I have heard of using compressed air to keep the valve up while changing the seal, is this do-able?
I know there are TONS of threads on blue smoke on startup.. and thats what I have.
Appreciate...
I was GOING TO ask about the procedure... but I've read so much on this site over the last couple days, and seen all the "spoon feeding" that happens... :icon_roll
Just wondering where I go about ordering a new fan clutch for my 90' 7mgte. I see there are lots on ebay (not sure of the quality) but does anybody have a reliable source for these?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
