thats exactly what I thought too when I did my HG job.. turns out after checking it for the 3rd time it wasnt so perfect after all. valve timing was off, but it still ran.

had the same problem when my turbo was dying. u might just have to upgrade!!! ;)

there should be a hose going from the turbo compressor side outlet to the wastegate actuator approx 3" long.. install the hose from the actual turbo to the inlet side of the boost controller (indicated by an arrow usually, for inlet). and the outlet side goes to the wastegate. basically your...

well i had pretty much the same symptoms. waterfall sound on startup etc. occasionally white smoke but couldnt figure out why it was only once in a while. then eventually it started a slight misfire and i confirmed a bhg when i start up my car, take the rad cap off, and bubbles would constantly...

oh wow.. got my exhaust done today. full 3" off the turbo. what a difference! it sounds sweeeeeet! especially when the wastegate opens (stock internal one!) however! it is really really loud .. and can get pretty annoying coming home late, trying to keep quiet!
