I blew one out once. Check what the exhaust is like coming out of the tail pipe. When cats get clogged they run super hot (can glow in low light conditions) and you'll get superheated air out of the tail pipe. If it's clogged bad it won't even smell like exhaust. Also note that a clogged cat...
I had very similar symptoms (minus the NB a/f guage) that remained even after walbro/fuel filter/12v. The thing that made the difference was swapping out my fpr. I think the old one had flopped and I was leaning out pretty bad, causing the tccs to pull timing until I got over ~3k rpm. I even...
Balancing the reciprocating assembly is an inertial component and doesn't address the "harmonics" that come into play with combustion. The stock pulley is a dampener that attenuates the shocks that are created when the air/fuel ignites and transfers energy into the piston-rod-crank. Simple...
The MKIII that inspired me was the first one I ever drove. It was a black 89T with nothing more than a K&N and 3" exhaust that I was looking at buying. That feeling I got when I mashed the pedal of a supra for the first time got me. It wasn't just the power, it was feeling that turbo spool...
Try some napoleon extra virgin olive oil. :yelrotflm
Sorry, but you will get so many different opinions that it could start a flame war. I'd go with a synthetic (castrol isn't a true synth BTW) personally. I think the biggest thing to worry about with your oil is how much of it is in...
I second checking the rear toe links also. My left rear is really bad. It clunks/clinks after moderate decel and I engage the clutch or give some throttle. Lot's of wandering (shifting toe in/toe out) on rutted asphalt also.....really disgusting to drive. :ugh:
Yeah, it's a pain to get all of the air out.
You don't have a heater core but you still hear the gurgling in the dash? I'm pretty sure you have a heater core, unless someone went through the hassle of removing it. You also wouldn't hear the gurgling w/out a heater core.
Shouldn't be too loud. I run 3" pipe from the turbo all the way back, nothing else, and it's not that bad. Adding a cat and a resonator would tone it down quite a bit.
3 months on a stock ct @ 10psi with no bov took a tight turbo to lots of radial slop and oil leaking into the turbine housing. No damage my ass. :hsugh:
The stock bypass valve is pretty worthless. I wouldn't bother with the bosch either. If you want to save some bucks and still have a good valve, look into a 1G DSM valve.
I've never heard of wastegate chatter(?). It just sounds like you are getting low boost surge so it won't do nearly as...
