How do you like your AUTOMATIC supra?

This is so full of BS it's not even funny. I have a fully built A340E...so does IJ. I have yet to see a manual beat me on the shift, plus I hold boost through the entire power band...you lose boost with a manual every time you press the clutch. It applies to a stock CT26 too...as far as NA...

    Rich Running 7mgte

When you say "Timing is good", can you be more specific...i.e was it set per the TSRM with the diagnostic block jumped at 10 deg BTDC? Did you check valve timing...i.e is the CPS in the correct position with the crank damper pointing at zero and both cam gears pointing at the back plate...

Open turbo: mistake or good thinking?

Get a Civic - a lot cheaper to fix when you screw with it ;)

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

That is legal for ANY resident of AZ - no CCW required ;) I do this on a regular basis myself, but business owners have the right to prohibit exposed carry on their premise. A CCW is only for public concealed carry with few restrictions - with a CCW, you can carry in a business that prohibits...

How do you like your AUTOMATIC supra?

IPT does a excellent job, but I'll warn you, it's not cheap. http://www.importperformancetrans.com/ I have an IPT built tranny w/ a 3000 RPM stall - no issues and it performs as advertised.

You think you are fast? NOW BACK IT UP! - Quest for the fastest - TV show

This subject has nothing to do with a Supra, other than it can be a very fast car. Thread moved. Please pay attention to where you post.

A bit anally retentive, but I like the way you think ;)

My Oil cooler Set-up - Opinions Please

That would only give you a very general idea, but what you are saying has validity. What I want to see is the condition of the oil itself...i.e. is the oil at ops temp (90-100 deg C) as it flows to the motor. Also, measuring temps from the cooler will tell you how well it's doing it's job.

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

This is Dunckel's carry pistol, but in .40 S&W. I had the opportunity to shoot his when he was visiting Phoenix - it's very accurate, easy to shoot, and has well designed controls. I like this gun - the adjustable palm swell is a big plus to facilitate a natural point. I am seriously thinking...

My Oil cooler Set-up - Opinions Please

I moved this to the General section for more visibility - plus, most of this is already in the oil cooler sticky in the Lube section. Your part list pretty much mirrors the sticky. I would opt for a stacked plate cooler like the B&M vs the tube/fin design of the Derale you linked to. The...

    water temp sensor

The coolant temp sensor is one of the parameters the ECU uses to cut off the EGR to maintain driveability...coolant temp must be above a set temp for the EGR to function. RPM is another - the EGR does not function at idle (controlled by vac port placement), nor above 4000-4500 RPM (ECU...

    water temp sensor

Check the EGR gas path through the intake manifold channel. As JJ said, no way the coolant temp sensor is at fault.

    new advice for BHG

If it was not run for any length of time with coolant in the oil, I'd put a stock HG on it and hope for the best. If you use a MHG, you will need to get the block deck resurfaced (head deck too) to a RA of 30 or less....if you do that, you might as well replace the bearings. I would use ARP...

    multiple attempts to start...

Do us all a favor and don't "guess" in the Tech sections...it doesn't help at all and often leads off on a tangent. Temperature Time Switch that limits how long the CSI functions. Yes it is considering he posted this in the 7M Tech section...then again, it wouldn't be the 1st time...

Timing marks good, but wrong stroke?

Setting a head down flat on a hard surface with the cams installed will do it too. Bigger cams will have to have quite a bit of extra lift to cause interference problems with the pistons.

Pic request: Upgraded valve cover bolt set up

You definitely don't want to do that. You can put a star washer between the stock grommet (top) and the bolt head. Cap screws look good if you want "pretty".
