I have had three pop out. I finaly pulled the motor to replace them all with Toyota plugs. I also had the rear one one the exaust side pop out twice.. lol

A crack in the turbo Inlet pipe (accordion hose) will cause a lean condition not a rich. Air escaping after the turbo will make it rich. Have you checked for a boost leak?

Sounds like a alternator. Try pulling off your positive batteries cable while the car is running. If it dies its a good chance its that. Or you could go down to AutoZone and have the test it.
