i've gotten the "is it twin turbo" question a few times. i've got an NA and i'm building a 7mgte to swap in it and when i talk to people about my project they always ask if i'm puttin a 2jz in. then i'll tell them a 7m and they never know what i'm talking about.
i've got a friend that drives a...
88 NA hardtop 5spd weighed in at 3410 with me and 3/4 a tank of gas, no back seats or back half of interior
i've got the interior back in and i'm gettin close to swapping in a 7mgte so weight should be a little higher then
lookin good! i'm working on my own NA-T so seein yours come together is making me more and more anxious to get mine moving. i'm glad i don't have to deal with emissions like you guys though
thats exactly how my NA sounds. i never looked into the noise being anything else, i just assumed it was rod knock. its been sitting for like 6 months now waiting on my rebuilt 7mgte
yeah tanabe sounds really good too and i love the look of the muffler. but if you like loud then go for the rsr. like zach said 935 motorsports still has about 20 of them or so
i'd go for the RSR personally. it's loud pretty much all the time unlike the Tanabe but i don't mind it. what do you prefer, loud or not loud until full throttle? cause thats pretty much the differences between these exhausts
you need to get a '91 turbo 5psd wiring harness and ecu for it to work since you're swapping the engine in to a '91 chassis. the '88 wiring and ecu won't work.
and as for the shifter opening, i've seen a guy on his build thread cut the opening a little longer. maybe an inch or two off the side...
damn man, i wish i had this much progress this quickly. how would you suggest me clean out my exhaust manifold? i don't have any access to a sandblaster or anything
