my thermostat was brand new. it was definitely an air bubble for me. bled it again this morning, after last night having it rise up a bit and drop again. the drive to work today, it got to 2/5ths, 1/3rd.. which ever, and didn't go any higher. So crossing my fingers, thinking it's resolved.
Gsxr...
no sound behind dash. it did that before...and pushed out coolant. found a few leaky hoses that were allowing air in the system previously, which is what was probably causing it
drove it to work and no real issues. it did at one point, start to rise up about 2 notches, but it then dropped back down. so i'm guessing theres still a little air trapped in it. for now though, it should help ease my worrying. i'll bleed it more this weekend
I ended up jacking the front up as high as I could and let it run for a good 30 minutes. After it spilling a lot of coolant out, it finally dropped and I was able to add about half a quart or so of coolant. There were a ton of little air bubbles as well before it dropped. So I might be good now...
After fixing the coolant leak(keeping fingers crossed still)...I drove her to work today. On the way I got concerned as the temp gauge rised above half way. So I pulled over, shut it off and looked to see if it was pissing coolant. Nothing was leaking. I get back in the car and the temp gauge...
mine does, but it's got rust on the drivers side... and you can tell it's been reshaped. but who ever did it, did a good job and the rust is a small spot where it looked like it was kinked. it's only surface rust at least
just curious, but is the breather for your bpv chopped? just wondering if that affects the performace in anyway. i know on my subaru that was a big thing to not do.
mine is capped off like that... im keeping my heat. doesn't hurt performance to not keep it. plus, being in the northern states, we still get some cool nights
Yeah we'll find out tomorrow. I also got some sealing pellets Incase I really can't find it. Also the cap is rated to 19psi. Oem is 16 if I'm right. I'm going to try and dig up my stock cap
oh and the hoses that run from that fitting to the IAC, back to the hose that runs around the block, are all new hoses. it seems to be leaking just as much as it did when i thought it was the head gasket.
what are the odds the block is cracked? all of these leaks started after i put an...
yeah i pulled the barb out and cleaned the threads up and the fitting quite well. there was some rust on it. i also added silicone to the threads of the fitting, silicone on the fitting itself so it sealed the hose.. and silicone on the gasket were the intake runners meet the head.
