Thanks for the post.
We did some moch ups with the stock headers and some exhaust pipe for turbo placement. There were a few problems with them so we thought about making log type headers, then when looking over the internet we found that the Sequoia (2UZ-FE) had the perfect style header for a...
Yea, what I did for my 1UZ is sent 12v trough the "check connector" wire to power the fuel pump, that way I "elminated" the factory resistor and relay circuit. It still gets power from the EFI main relay but it just goes a different route through the car. Ideally the fuel pump should be on a...
1. You will need to measure the crank on the chev and the input shaft on the R154 and order a bearing that works. As for clutch disk you would be using the R154 disk, just have to make sure the flywheel is the correct diameter. Or have a clutch disk made that has the correct spline number and...
When your doing mounts, think in reverse pull the I6 out bolt the trans back up and make a "jig" with the mounts still attached to the I6 engine and trans. That way you can see where your new mounts need to be without a car in the way, still plenty of test fits and tach welds are needed with...
Interesting, the car does have a large intercooler, 3" cat back, and a down pipe, still on the factory y-pipe though. When we did the last test the average outside air temps were down from the last time we drove it, so that may have helped keep fuel cut away. So at what pressure are the factory...
Thanks, with the spacer from the Quantum-Auto kit I didnt want to change out throwout bearings and have to deal with shims and all that so I just kept using the Howe, but now I'm going with the QM unit with a new spacer from QA, they are the same but I wanted a new one for the new unit.
Small...
Ok, so I got a chance to do a test on the car today before the rain started. We plumbed the wastegates up "like" factory, front compressor controls the front actuator and the rear controls the rear. During the test drive the car pulled better than it has ever and didn't hit fuel cut, driver took...

I was hot-dogging my 1UZ-FE car after putting the LSD in the rear and the next day I was about to go get fuel and the o rings in the Howe throwout bearing assembly blew out... again... this will be no. 4. Only real big pain to pull the trans is dealing with the dual exhaust, other than...
This has been covered plenty of times before, for future stuff hit the search button.
IMO the old HKS system sounds the best on a NA, its not loud at all but still give the driver a little somthing and doesnt stray from that stock twin tip look. I do not think it is still produced.
Anyone else feel it? I was standing up and felt like I was on a boat at dock... My department just looked at eachother like WTF? Other department ran outside, in hinsite that was the smart thing to do...:icon_razz
Ok I will do a visual of the compressor wheels to make sure nothing is out of the norm. Thanks.
Ohh it’s definably fuel cut, it just "stops" doesn’t break up doesn’t keep pulling just "stops". I will check plugs, and there probably due for replacement soon but one thing at a time right...
Yea, I completely understand the concept of boost controllers.
I know any engine will hit fuel cut when enough boost is added, the only thing this engine has is a aftermarket down pipe bolted to the stock y pipe.
Raising fuel cut and adding larger injectors with a piggyback will not solve...
Hi all,
I'm working on a 1JZ-GTE Supra and having trouble controlling boost.
Short history:
Client had a local do the swap, from day one he had issues with pulling over 12 psi and hitting boost cut. So he put a MBC on to try to control it, but it didnt change anything. Recently he...
