"No idea what this is" Question

Not sure why they have it, but it's only on the early ones. Maybe RHD? You can still get the proper plug from Toyota if you wanted to remove the improper parts. And thanks, it's a fun car!

"No idea what this is" Question

I'm guessing instead of the proper pipe cap/plug for the coolant pipe, they used generic hose and shoved something inside to seal it (looks like a cam sensor from this angle.) Edit: This is a view from behind of what it should look like:

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Ha ha, ya reading through it all would have answered most of your questions. The car is being launched at 5000rpm on the 2-step. Car runs only 2-step launch control, no anti-lag. Anti-lag (retard rev setting) makes the EGT's soar well above safe levels for the turbo, and you'll damage the turbo...

    Wilwood caliper creaking sound?

Holy Zombie thread! FYI, people- check when the last post on a subject was before necro'ing a thread. Spiller hasn't been on since February this year...

    MAP Proving grounds 2014.2 video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioX0_i9HmbA&feature=youtu.be This year was fun, but I hurt another R154 drag racing. Didn't race the last day to save the trans for roll racing, which was a total blast! There's not much of my car, but anything is more than nothing in my book! Couple buddies...

    ATI Super Damper Question

Not that I'm aware of, a 7M uses larger threads than any other Toyota I've seen. Just find a good machine shop and have them machine the bolt to fit the pulley (give them the pulley to ensure a perfect fit)

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Hey, I'm still alive! Little bit of an update in the cars status- broke another R154! (sigh) Drag racing and I managed to tear 3/6 lower shifter housing bushings, broke the MC lower ball seat on the shifter itself, and managed to make 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear hate life in the process...

Oil Pump Priming after already Installed?

You can pull the timing cover and remove the timing belt, then use a drill to spin the oil pump pulley by its bolt. It should feel relatively 'free' when you start spinning, but after a couple seconds it should start to get harder to spin as oil pressure is developed. If it doesn't feel harder...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Getting ready for MA Performance's Proving grounds, going to bring a lil more than I have in the past, so I needed a little add-on.

Advice on using factory fuel feed line as a return line for e85 setup?

Single ~340lph pump the factory return will suffice, but if you go dual you'll need to either run new hose or double up. I used the factory vent line as my second return line- it's actually just as big as the return line if you cut the crimped/reduced ends off.

Sharing lessons learned from upgrading the A340E

The T-56 is a manual, I am unaware of a GM 6-speed auto. I'm not really that knowledgeable about anything GM, as I do Toyota all day every day. Sorry for any confusion!

Sharing lessons learned from upgrading the A340E

Most of the time a 6-speed swap is going to be a GM T-56 since the ATI adapter is readily available. (this is talking 7M) I'm having an adapter plate made to bolt my V160 onto my 7M, but its taking a long time and may/may not be worth it in the end. The clutch will be made by OSGiken, and the...

    power sag at 3200 rpm

Couple things stand out to me, although they may be nothing more than the interface. 1- TPS reading 24%. If the ECU is only seeing 24% throttle, it may not be as aggressive with timing as it could be, not sure how the stock ECU treats tps in relation to timing and fuel though. 2- 18* of timing...

    2jz vvti cooling issue

I'd be willing to bet its your fans. While having electric fans running at low speeds increases cooling, having them running all the time causes a restriction of airflow at higher speeds (not sure of the crossover point). Either put a thermostatic control circuit onto the vehicle to turn the...

    F***!!!! Stripped union bolt

You might be able to find a longer banjo bolt to bypass the damaged threads, although I'm unaware of such a bolt. I wouldn't try to make your own, that would likely end in tears.

    Emilio's NewRedSupra

I know, right? I officially have more seat time in Emilio's car than he does! (well, with the current setup, that is) It's a nice setup. I think y'all are going to like it a lot. Not flashy, not loud or obnoxious, and definitely not hackey-sack. Oh, and his goal of getting into Cars and...

AEM EMS V1 Crank Injector Time Table and Initial Crank Pulse Table.

Hey Shadow- send me your e-mail address and I'll shoot you an old map with the right settings- lots of the stuff you have posted is significantly different than mine- might be worth a shot trying my map and settings and going from there. *Generic Disclaimer: my setup might be different so there...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

And out of nowhere, a wild Steve appears! First and foremost, we had a baby! Evelyn is healthy and 4 months old now, and has pretty much taken over both of our lives. Ill get other stuff done periodically, but only a fraction of what I did beforehand. While it might be hard right now, I'm...

    R154 or A340E/TH350

Having run an R154 at the strip with high power, its doable, but the runs were inconsistent at best. The drivetrain can handle slipped clutch launches that equated to mid to high 1.6 60' times, but I couldn't get it to launch well and shift well. This picture is of a ~550hp tune on wastegate...

AEM EMS V1 Crank Injector Time Table and Initial Crank Pulse Table.

I'll check my maps tonight, but I am running 1350 injectors so there will be some variance. Cold start is always the hardest to get right. Best advice I can give is make sure the car is fully dyno tuned before trying to tackle cold start, as the main maps affect starting as well. No sense in...
