    ***SM Member Horsepower List***

Tuned yesterday. Did well. Compressor was surging early on so we had to cut it off :( Unofficial top power was 806 @ 33psi, but to make it safer we cut it off at 31psi, making 788. Wastegate power is 573 @ 20-23 (boost creep'd) I will post pictures when I get internet back at home.

For those of you with a 4" turbo inlet: what filter do you use?

HA! I'm running a spectre filter until I find a better one that fits correctly (4" dryflow, please!) Not the best, but it's sure a heck of a lot better than nothing at all!

A serious 1jz no spark issue. Gurus welcome

Using the factory EWD for an 04 Corolla, pins go like this: 1- +B Black with a White tracer 2- IGF Light blue with a Yellow tracer 3- IGT Varies cylinder to cylinder 4- GND White with a Black tracer I'll go take a look at my wire harness and see which pin is which for sure, but if...

A serious 1jz no spark issue. Gurus welcome

I have a suspicion. You say the 4 wires to the coils are Power, ground, tach, and 'signal'? While this is true, the names are not correct; which may have caused the problem indirectly. I think you may have wired your coils incorrectly. There are 2 different ecu pins on the coils- IGT and IGF...

    Heading to the strip

Put your boost as low as it goes until you start to get the feel of launching the car softly. Keep the boost low and slowly start to practice launching harder and harder until you find your tires' limit. Aim for something around 1.8 60" time. it's a good gauge for how well you're launching. 2.0+...

    Ic piping popping off

04 has the right idea- find a shop who can weld aluminum and have 'em lay a bead down the edge of the IC fitting!

    Ic piping popping off

Are your pipes bead rolled? If so, are you positioning the clamps in the proper place to hold the couplers against the rolled beads? (The clamps have to be right next to the rolled bead, but not on top of it. Can be tricky to position properly, but it's worth the time and effort to get it...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

I had run out of spark energy last year with the 2JZ-GE coils. Once the plugs had worn to a .025" gap, it started to break up at 26+ psi boost. It was fine around 18psi, though. I have them gapped at .023" normall. Since I'm going much higher boost this year, I wanted to add some overhead...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

They're a little tall, but they work. Much higher than my old 2JZ-GE vvti coils, but they should have more spark energy. Bracket was made by Albert, but I slightly modded it to fit easier. The latches were little hairy since I've never cut into CF, but it went pretty well! Edit best...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Intercooler piping is welded and installed. Works like a dream and the fabricator was awesome! Ordered some stainless piping for the exhaust, but that may not be done for the dyno (depending on his schedule). I am happy to report the car has not had any mechanical issues yet this year and I'm...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Quin, the tacometer was never accurate, with the factory/DH61 ignitors, nor with the AEM. Got an auto-meter unit that fits okish and does the job. Not the best, but it works better than what I had. As of lately, I've gotten the tune much better at cold-starting and idle control is better...

Where to find New or rebuilt 7mge wiring harness.

Thread moved. OP: Please pay attention to where you're posting in the future. I have seen Dr. Tweak's work and its top notch (albeit on a 88 GTE harness), but you do have to be patient to get service. I would suggest trying to get in contact with them first.

1jz crazy high fuel pressure, bad FPR?

Seems possible, I'd pull and swap it with a known good one (or swap to a quality aftermarket unit like aeromotive) ninja edit: Might want to make sure the gauge is working correctly as well

1UZ-FE Hesitation, Sputtering, Throttle Lag, and Backfire...

Distributor caps and rotors ok? Sounds like carbon tracking to me? Could also be a lean condition- have seen that quite a bit recently. Check everything that touches your fuel system/computer signals to make sure you're not running into a bad wire/signal.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Today I put some gas in the car, tried to get my factory tacho to work off of the AEM (but failed) so new aftermarket tachometer will be oredered soon. Swapped Jake's 3.91 differential into the car and it seems to be helping with the traction issues. New tires for the street and drag rims...

Put some gas in it and ran it on the street with the 1ZZ coils. WOOT!
