Really? I thought having a Turbo that has a good 100+ more bhp than what you are planning to run was a bit over kill, especially on a track car where response is everything?
For what the car will be used for I don't think I would ever need much more than 350.
When I say 7mge electronics I actually mean a hybrid of them and mostly 2jzge stuff, the Ecu would be 2jz, as would the engine loom spliced with the 7m/car's body loom.
I am beginning to side with the 2j option for precisely what grim said, since I am using a w58 for now I can't go mental...
This forum is bad for my wallet. I thought that I'd be perfectly happy with the 7MGE that is coming in my 92 track car, and if/when that blew I was happily going to put a 2JZGE as a non turbo engine and be happy with that. Then I logged onto here, read for about 5 minutes and then decided that I...
You don't need to spend thousands on a fancy diff and coilover suspension to start drifting. Actually, spending thousands of dollars on fancy parts as a beginner sounds like a horrible idea. Why on earth spend $$$ on a LSD when there are countless of beginners that have started off and moved up...
'Unknown' in what purpose? Unknown because you haven't seen it running or Unknown because you don't know in what sort of condition it is in mechanically, and if it is the later, would you consider pulling the engine out of every second hand car you bought just to make the unknowns known...
Sorry, had it in my mind that they hit the limiter at 6200.
Even then, it is still possible, I can't think of a single reason why revving it any higher (to the limiter) would cause such an issue that the OP is looking to get a limiter fitted, or contributes the fact that his motor has...
Could someone explain to me exactly what these 200RPMs between 6k and the limiter do to a 7MGE to suddenly make it implode?
It certainly is a new concept to me, and give me getting a 'drift spec' NA that I intend on taking road racing monthly it is something I'd like to know.
I'm in the UK so there so parts vary drastically, but to give you an idea I can get a pair of replica night-pager brackets, 300zx calipers, 350z Discs/Rotors and track spec pads for about $600, but I think machining is needed for the discs with makes it a deal breaker.
$600 would be my maximum...
Hello there
Been a long time since posting on here!
Due to be back in a MK3 Supra in a month. I've just agreed to buy a 92 NA Drift/Track car complete with coilovers, part cage, buckets, hydro hand brake, that sort of stuff.
The only thing I can think of that'll let it down on track...
Here's the specs of the twins I mentioned above. They are from a very reputatable company, but are a spot pricey (Single kit money):
What do you turbo gurus out there think?
Thanks, but I ideally want to stick with the CT12s. The class I'm looking at running in for auto testing/sprinting only allows turbos in their stock housings. That's part of the reason I'm keen on keeping the twins (albeit it uprated for slightly more power and reliability.)
If I have to say...
£1,050, or $1,641.64 in your money :naughty:
Planning on quite a few mods including a Front mount, but I'm thinking that I'll spray it black so it doesn't draw attention to itself. Problem is that I'm already hankering after an Aristo, so who knows if I'll actually ever finish this one.
I've searched by have found surprisingly little info.
Planning on replacing the restrictive standard exhaust system on my Soarer with something a little more free flowing, but I do have fears that this upgrade is going to lead to twin failure somewhere down the line so I have started to...
Is there any possibility of you being able to source a set of cams on my behalf. I'm willing to try find a set myself and having them sent directly to you, but if you have a spare set lying around it would make my life slightly easier.
Any vague idea what the shipping costs would be like to...
Not sure if anybody remembers me...
Anyway, after a year or so of messing around with old French cars (be glad you don't get them over there!) I decided to come back to Toyotas, and this time finally get myself something with a little boost. I played with the idea of another Supra, but without...
Sorry if I've missed it, but what exactly is wrong with the shell of your 1J'd car? Unless it's got terminal rust problems I can't see the justification of swapping shells, or selling the 1J'd car and running the Turbo in a standard condition.
Surely it'll only take a small bit of elbow...
Excuse my naiveness, but is this really a stupid question?
Surely he's asking how much power he can make before the stock CT26 becomes a limitation, which (if my memory serves me - I've been out of the game for a while!) is anything upto 300BHP?
