man this is the only tool that you need to install and remove the valves/springs/retainers etc. Get the seal pliers as well. It shaves a lot of time and pain when assembling the head.Saved me a lot of headaches. http://www.toyotool.com/

Best solution without doing any mods is to get a MKIV . That's it.

I've ran one without it . Car runs . But I'd say to get one if you can as it keeps signals clean.

Update : Finished making the custom oil feed/braided oil lines for the stock twins. The turbos are ready for the work ahead of them lol Changed all vacum hoses and water hoses to get rid of old stuff. I replaced the water and vacum hoses with high quality ones and thick wall vacum...
