With the clutch out it will not rev over 5500rpm. With the clutch pushed in, it will rev past 5500rpms. As for the VSS I'm not sure? I don't know if I would have to run a wire from my ecu some where because my speedo is ran by a cable and not from a electric signal
Need some help.
I have a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo 5spd (R-154) with a 2jzgte vvti Swap.
Engine is from a 1998 Aristo with 2jzgte vvti Auto Trans.
Harness was done by Dr. Tweak
The problem I am having is, the engine will not rev over 5500. From what I understand is the auto ecu is causing this...
My Supra came with a R154 trans and that is what I'm running with the 2jz. My 2jz vvti came with a auto trans. If there is any way around the 5500rpm wall I'm open to options and ideas.
Your best bet is to send your harness to DR tweek.
I ended up getting my harness back from DR Tweak. The problem I've run into and still have is that with the auto Ecu, I'm hitting a 5500rpm brick wall. I still don't know how to get the car/ecu to let me get over this rpm. I don't know how to...
The oil was still at a good level when it happened. Was still in the middle of the dipstick when I checked. I guess its time to pull the engine and order a replacement and rip apart the old one to see what happened.

Ok. What about the water temp sensor in a MK3 swapped with 2jz-gte vvti ? I have the 2 wire sensor that go's to the ecu, but I do not have the one pin sensor for the water temp gauge in the car. Any one have a part number for the right sensor? My coolent water neck has a bung for the sensor next...
Sweet. I didin't know you could run two like that, and I didn't know if having a stock one and a after market one would cause problems or not. Thanks for the help.
As some of you may know I'm trying to finish up my 2jz-gte vvti swap in my 1989 MK3 Supra.
