ok finally got a little more time.
i got the mock up motor in place. i actually had to do it by hand because my cherry picker broke! so i put the just the block and oil pan in first then the head. yea it wasn't the smartest thing to do but i got it done and didnt scratch and paint.

so i got some of the wiring done today, built a little power distribution and fuse/relay panel to go next to the battery in the trunk. ill post some pics up tomorrow if i get the time.
also should have the mockup block and head in place soon so i can start fitting all the new stuff. maybe ill...
update:
so yesterday i got the time to go pick up all my stuff (head, old block, etc)from my friends shop.
and today i got off work early so i decided to tackle the port&polish. i have a whole new respect for people that do this for a living... now i know why it is so expensive!

I seriously doubt that, there is no way toyota would sell a complete assembled short block that needs work.
There is also people that say the short blocks come out of mexico! hahah BS
