Yeah, F the JDM engines, get a good used engine from a reputable supplier that tests compression, oil pressure & inspects the ports and head because you usually only have to do the timing belt, water pump front & rear main seals on those. But on a Supra i'd recommend changing the headgasket as well
Just for reference the grease the bushings come with is silicone based. Yeah Energy has dropped the ball on a few of the bushings that i've sold. When we check them out they miss 1 bushing here or half a bushing there so I call them up and let them know their mistake and they get it handled. So...

You would need to check for a signal at the VSV connector when you did that and if it gets signal, bad unit

But by reducing the diameter of the entrace the amount of gas that is in the exhaust is bottle necked into a smaller opening so sure the speed of the gas is accelerated but the flow of air through the engine would be slowed down since the same volume of exhaust gas that existed before exists...
