The K27 turbo is in and so is my own FFIM and my new IC.
In the autumn of 2014 I started tearing down my supra, it was time for paint. I'm still working on it, painting it myself. I also got a new windshield in :)

Finish painting
Fix my spec pressure plate so that it will work. With the spec PP I can't disengage the clutch so currently I'm using stock PP with spec disc.
Build a new engine harness...version 3 or something like that :)
Rebuild my gearbox

I just got my pair and jumped up on the scale to compare with the ls400. The merc calipers weigh 4.3 kg each and the ls400 weigh 3.3 kg each.
The merc calipers are put together with 4 parts, 2 parts in the middle which is the mounting part and made of steel and then the two outer which houses...

I'm sorry to wake this thread up, but I don't think there is a need for a new thread.
I have pretty much the same setup as IJ., I'm still using the stoch pipe over the valve covers. I also have a PCV on line which is going but my concern with this is that air is still able to go from the inlet...
I think that since the removed metal is within the mating area it will not generate enough torque to throw the balancing of. Also, the weight percentage of the disc that is removed is very small compared to the weight percentage which is left further out on the disc.
For the turbine housing I would recommend stove blackening. I don't really know what it's called in english, but it's a black powder which you rub on with a damp towel. If you don't have a working protective layer, the turbo blanket will speed up the rusting process.

Today I got some paint on my calipers. I got some help from GF and a friend.
I still haven't gotten anywhere on the brake caliper piston problem.

Sorry to be a PITA, but it's pretty far from each other, tumble and swirl. Swirl in an otto engine will promote terrible combustion.
Every hobby costs money, at least this hobby will have something to show for it. So no, your not nuts.
