"Most fan clutches are viscous or "fluid" couplings combined with a bi-metallic sensory system similar to that in a thermostat."
There is a bi-met spring on the front of the clutch assembly that reacts to changes in temperature and rotates a small shaft which controls engagement/disengagement.
Totally unrealistic and unuseable but...
Theoretically it is possible but I think the plumbing to make it function would be unworkable outside of an extremely overfunded college project with full access to a fully equipped engine dynocell.
Edit- can you hook me up with some of what you're...
Which would be aluminum(or aluminium) with clearcoat. I disagree with that being the best. Darker colors are good for sawblades....they become less visible.
Heh, I think the title of the thread might be an understatement(my statement on that might even be an understatement ;)). "Bigass" just doesn't seem to get the job done.(j/k) I'll take a peek at the stream but 350 megs is HUUUUGE for 10 minutes of video. I'm not software savvy but you might...
The suspense was killing me! I was peeking through my hands waiting for the BHG to strike but we didn't get the money shot! What a rip-off ::moebaker::
j/k. Cool find dude. :bigthumb:
Good numbers for the boost. Is there a problem with these types of dynos not loading the engine enough versus the in-ground (3200 lbs right?) rollers?
Sweet burnout too. :bigthumb:
VVVV- That little wink seems to indicate you enjoyed that, IJ...:greddy2:
j/k :biglaugh:
Ok, but it would be nearly impossible for maitai69691 to know what he has just by that.
I think you should pull it and take a closer look and compare it to the pics above to be 100% sure, dude.
Congrats! I have the 110V version of that welder and it works great. Less versatile than industrial grade rigs but it works great for what I have used it for. Some formal training will help for sure but like IJ said it's all about practice.
Same here. Even doing the same weld over and...
I've never owned a lex so I don't know for sure about external differences but I think if there are any, they are minor. Someone else could chime in for that.
If you feel like it, you can pull yours out and and see what it is. Both the Lex and stock AFM are shown in that pic...
That site is just a corporate advertising engine at it's heart. Question the masters or their help, get banned. I almost never visit that site anymore, let alone post. Too much money and too many overinflated egos IMO. SM is where it's at.
I feel that moderators should be moderate...
They obviously cut costs somewhere. I'm sure labor is the big player there but I would also assume quality standards and practices are below par as well as material quality. This is based on their 304 stainless exhaust manifolds we've all seen. (junk IMO)
I'm just not sure how tough it is...
There aren't any universal base settings from what I've seen. Two cars with identical setups would require different settings. There are a lot of variables. You pretty much need a wideband O2 monitor to know for sure. Otherwise it's a gamble if you are pushing it.
