I second checking the CPS connection. I had similar issues and a few intermittant code 14s and got stranded in an intersection. It turned out the harness side of the CPS connection had a couple of very fatigued wires, one of them failed at the intersection. If that is what your problem is you...
You're thinking narrow band O2 monitoring. EGT (exhaust gas temperature) monitoring involves a thermal probe in the exhaust stream and an analog guage.
You forgot to mention A/F ratio monitoring. Add a wideband O2 setup to that list. An EGT guage can be used as well but the probe needs to be mounted pre-turbo and the response time is much slower than a wideband.
Good luck. :icon_surp
Welcome!
Yes the W58 (n/a trans) will bolt up to the 7MGTE(U). I don't have any direct experience with the N/A to Turbo swap but many many people have done it and there is plenty of great documentation on it. You can use the search feature here and I would also highly recommend 4cefed.com...
Boost leaks are actually very hard to "see" and if you have stock IC plumbing it's very likely you have at least one leak and likely multiple leakers. There are so many weak areas in the stock pipes it's not even funny...well I guess it could be depending on your perspective.
And yeah, if...
Coolant doesn't flow into the radiator until the thermostat opens but coolant flows through the heater core as soon as the pump is spinning and the valve is open. Maybe the valve is stuck open as well.
Actually, the lex afm has mostly been used in conjunction with an upgraded ct26 or larger turbo PLUS 550s and usually something like an S-AFC. Even with a stock turbo you can ruin your engine pretty easily with a lex. You can get some decent gains with a stock ct/440s/lex afm but you should...
Do you mean a line filter for compressed air systems? Hmmm....they trap very small particles, oil, and water. They don't cost too much either.
...and yes, you should try to put the catch can in a cooler place than just behind the exhaust manifold. There needs to be a decent temperature...
It's quite a PITA but you have to replace at least one of the hoses under the intake manifold. I would recommend pulling the upper intake manifold OR isolating and replacing the broken hose(s) from below and above. You can lay under the car to get a look and then work from above blind (a...
I hope you're joking. Compressor surge is not a good thing. I have a ct26 with massive radial and axial play caused by comp surge to prove it (not to mention leaky seals). Sure, it kind of sounds cool but it isn't good :aigo:
If you're getting some comp surge then you BOV is probably...
The benefit of venting to atmo with a stock AFM is purely superficial (to make more noise). If you don't mind stalling out and fouling spark plugs then go for it.
