I did not read the whole thread (someone may have said this) But rather than painting them you could have used Lamin-X protective film on them, you can get it in yellow, and it protects your lens from rocks and what not. I run clear film on my bimmers head lights, and on the supra I have yellow...

^^^Trunk mounted turbos don't need oil, my next mod will be relocating the 7M to the back seat, transversely mounted. It wont need oil either- rod knock solved!

Ok, I did a quick measuering job for you. Up front the 8.5" w/20mm offset will put the outer lip the same distance away from hub as my 9" w/27mm. Here is a pic I did and it is all to scale.
IMO, It would be close up front, but close enough that rolling would take care of any problems. If this info helps any: I'm running 17x9 27mm offset up front and I rub a little on the fender so I will have to roll'em soon.
