Everyone drives like idiots the very first icy day/snowfall, it's to be expected  Ice will definitely do it though, tonight was horrible for me as well.
At least you erred on the side of caution rather than ignoring what could've been a problem!
I'm not aware of needing the car to run in order to flush coolant :)
Disconnect the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant, pretty much all there is to it. Using the upper is stupid, to put it bluntly...like 10% of the coolant is at the upper hose level and higher, it'd take forever to filter...
If you only notice it in slick conditions it is ABS. The actuator pulsating the brakes sounds a bit like grinding...you'll feel the pulsating in the brake pedal. Completely normal and fine, although you might want to slow your driving habits down a bit.
If you hear it ALL the time and it sounds...
My 'A' setting is between 60-65 and it boosts around 12 psi. Keep going up and you'll eventually hit it haha, you were almost there.
The 'A' and 'B' settings are in duty cycle...the SPR is in PSI. Crank the duty cycle up a bit and fine tune the duty cycle/SPR until you find a response...
I only touched two things: WG spring pressure (titled SPR I believe in the list of variables you can change) and the duty cycle for A/B.
Spring pressure is tricky: the higher you set it, the quicker it spools (wastegate won't crack until this pressure) but the better the chance of spiking (or...
As for the rings around the holes, I'll look into that but can't promise anything yet. I just got the original tray from pparrigo on Thursday which will definitely be a big help! More holes in this thing than I expected but not a big problem anyways.
I'll check out how it fits on the car after...
No idea honestly haha. That was a question I had when I ran into my prof. at 5:30 today and didn't want to bug him too much :icon_razz I'll see him tomorrow @ 10 anyways.
I had a few ideas floating around in my head, but those aren't based on anything I've learned thus far so I don't trust them...
I haven't called anyone and asked but the general consensus from the searching I did was ~$150 for a stock Toyota one. I'm not sure if that is with the discount some dealerships give to us Supra owners or without. I'll call tomorrow because I'm curious myself.
My laid out plan is to use double...
If you look at the Max Torque values at the top of the sheet he edited...then at the two values @ ~7k, then at the two values listed in the blue/green writing near the bottom...half of the numbers are freaking different :biglaugh:
pparrigo: I'm free today the same times and Thursday I'm free after 12, so whichever is good for you...I'll PM you my cell number and you can call/text to figure it out.
Making the mold shouldn't be bad at all haha, but if something goes wrong you get a new one from Toyota :)
Kevin: Will do, I...
Awesome! I talked with my professor and I just need to settle one more thing out before I go about ordering the materials this week...which means actual mold construction won't start until after Christmas break (first week of January). Would you feel comfortable giving it to me now, for that...
Look back at the picture of the DDP that you posted: the thin, flat piece of metal in the downpipes opening separates the wastegate flow and exhaust gas flow coming from the turbine. If that piece isn't there, or isn't in the proper place (too far back) the DP will flow at less than its potential.
IJ: Hey, didn't think of that, good point.
pparrigo, if your around this week (or the first week of January) I'd much appreciate it I could grab a look at it, or possibly borrow it in the future (down deposit if you would feel more comfortable that way). I've also got a PM from another member...
Yup, I'll be back at RIT on Sunday. So you have an undercover on your car or no? I gotta jack mine up today in the driveway to check something out so I could measure the hole distance, but I'd like to get a look at how the undercover is shaped and everything too.
Thanks btw, and it'll be cheap...
If someone with either an engine undercover on their car, or one that is bouncing around in your garage or something please post in here I'd much appreciate it :)
I need the dimensions of the bolt holes and overall dimensions of the stock plastic undercover. I'm in a composites class here at...
