Thanks hvy and Travis :)
Update:
Built it up a bit more and used the 3/4" dowel pins I got at Home Depot to center the piece. No I didn't cut them, yes they are 3 feet long, yes they are run through the entire thing down to the floor...temporary until I cement them in with filler (cut out the...
Update, although kind of late lol:
Went to Home Depot to buy some OSB board to cut up and get the project underway...then realized that a 4 foot wide board won't fit in my car. So the bungee cords in the back of my car came in handy, I was impatient:
Got home with the 2 4x4 boards, they're...
They did the same to me when I ordered a week or so ago...said they needed cores and didn't know when they'd be in stock again. Looks like I'll have to find another place.
Nice link, websites are sourcing about the same prices....Rockauto has them ~$40 but remanned...wonder if they'll send a...
There needs to be barely any antifreeze in the oil to half the oils ability to lubricate...as in, less than a tenth of a percent I believe. Lemme search.
edit: Many tests have shown that as little as 0.04% (400 PPM) water in lubricating oil can cut the fatigue life of bearings by as much as...
I'm pretty sure all N/A injectors are 460cc, so the S5 T2 injectors are the way to go. S5 plugs == our harness, S4 == the older ones...had to look it up just to make sure ;) http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=885092
Mmshay, according to this website (http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.com/MAZDA_FUEL_INJECTORS.html) the injectors labelled 842-12175 and 195500 2020 are the same...one is an SKU and the other is something else I guess. So...
Those are not for a turbo rx7 so are probably 450cc
you can find them for 35 each plus 12 shipping online...I'll post the link when I stop fiddling with my itouch and get out of bed lol
dragracer: perfectly clear, thank you sir!
3.0: Damn, thoes are pretty cheap...although I might opt for the prewired EV1/Bosch clips I mentioned earlier...I'm not sure if I want to trust my wiring/soldering skills haha.
hvyman: That is the general consensus. You can use high impedance in a...
Mmshay I'll be editing this post with my results.
So far I've found out that the 7MGTE wiring harness uses denso universal connectors, while the Mazda RX7 (early year, low impedance) uses EV1 connectors. So, to use the RX7 injectors in the 7MGTE harness you need a denso male universal connector...
Wardog also said that the clips would need to be changed to the RC clips.
Waiting on an e-mail back from the connector/clip place I linked to tell me what clips each harness has (7M/RX7) and if they have a connector pre-made that'll connect ours to the injector, if they are in fact different...
Nope no myth :) They can be finangled to fit or they are drop-in replacements, I'm trying to figure out which one. People have used them before and it might be my route as well, I can find em pretty cheap online (remanufactured) or from rx7club. Cleaned and flow tested and I should be set to go...
Ooh, cool quick reply box...
The earlier ones (87-88) are low impedence, so yes those will work, but will they fit into the stock 7MGTE wiring harness or will you need injector clips?
edt: PM me with price, I'm curious about that too haha.
I'll try to find some pictures but I haven't seen any to date of the actual clip from a straight angle.
In my reading I found out there are two 550cc injectors running all the time and two 850cc injectors that come on at higher rpms in the turbo RX7...not sure which ones are leading or...
Here be a conglomeration of all the searching I've done thus far, that has not resulted in a definite answer:
I've seen multiple threads stating that the purple topped, low impedence 550cc injectors from 89-91 turbo RX-7s are a 100% drop in injector...no new clips, no fiddling with injector...
None of the old parts you take out are reusable.
The old outer sleeves for some of the control arms need to be REMOVED. If your bushings seem to be too big, you didn't notice the sleeves.
Inner sleeves are supplied.
No problems with my install thus far, the car rides absolutely great...
Good info, I'll have to shop around for prices... a bit of searching says that a 1.0 shift kit from MV Automatics was ~$385, but I doubt that is overseas shipping and was in 2003 anyways.
I'll give him a call tomorrow and ask some q's, he doesn't have a website it appears.
As always, thanks...
Ahh, so the PCS enables you to adjust the solenoid ( so to speak) instead of it being set in stone as the 'regular' valve body mod goes, I see. Makes sense, thank you!
Did you ever use an IPT valve body in the past or just work with the Aristo's? I'll have to call them up and ask what they do...
