My bad pin 1 & 4 12VDC power.
pin 3 ground from retractor control when head lights are on.
pin 2 is 12VDC when relay coil is on.
I was looking at the taillight relay.

The hose on 2 goes to 3 the idle control opening just put a small K&N on the metal tube coming out below 3 to keep the dirt from going into the intake through there.

I agree its almost as bad as taking an amp reading across + & - on a battery second thought just check the coil pins with a test light if you ohm the wrong pin to ground some meters may not like that and react bad.
You dont want to ohm +12vdc to ground meter and bodily damage may occure.

Ok this is how the supra dimmer works.
Its called a Light Control Rheostat.
It haves three wires that feed ground, power, a biased ground side output!
