oh I forgot to tell you how to convert...
1 American inch = 25.4 mm....SO the conversion is: American # X 25.4= metric equiv!
Example: 2.546"X25.4=64.6684mm
I'm sorry man...look, don't waste money on "metric" mic's...there is a simple conversion to find the metric equiv to a standard measurement! Infact the tsrm gives both metric and standard #'s...why you would throw away $$$ on mic's is beyond me!?
If you need a hand on how to measure this...
Yup...why in gods name pay for your own education when someone else will do it...there is always a job shop in need of a shop bitch...being a shop bitch isn't bad as you're always doing something diff...small/easy jobs on damn near all the equipment...always something new...unlike me who runs...
School is not experience...experience is on the job.
And duane you are correct you will get paid more...but also most shops will pay for you to take classes on cnc set up and basic program!! Shops get huge tax breaks for sending people to "school" (aka 3 day crash course)...
My point...
Maybe as a doctor, or a nurse, or even a mechanic but not in machining...no shop ever asked me for certifications or if I have a degree...all they ask is can you do the job...you get paid what you are worth and if you are not worth what your degree says you're worth you get fired! I've seen so...
im gonna be straight with you...school is a waist if you are serious about wanting to learn to machine.....the best way for you to get a machining education is go be a shop bitch...you power a broom and then they start you on basic shit....machining can ONLY be done by hands on experience...no...
OH PLEASE!!!!! its funny reading this garbage from people who dont run these machines every day!!
the shop i work for is very high standards....iso 9001 cert...we are a .0003" guarantee shop....we make weapons for the military as well as aviation and medical....we are replaceing machines as...
