really just the seal's need changing,front seal,rear main,and possably cam seal's.all the rest of the gasket's in the motor are metal type shim gasket's that don't fail easy.you might want some new valve cover gasket's too.
i use an adjustable wrench with cardboard and wrench's with electrical tape.an fitting's don't require alot of torque when tighting them down anyway's.i have an fitting's on my fuel system,oil relocation,and catch can(with no leak's)
joe the motor just felt right at home with a nicer powerband.the gear change i'm sure is more noticable for me though,because i was still rocking the auto.the 3.73 was allright with the stock 16" wheel's,but then i went to 17" with a slightly taller tire.first drive with the 17" my car felt...
hey jay.i hope all your suspension cam bolt's aren't frozen.i lowered mine and couldn't get it aligned right.my back wheel's where toe'd out with alot of camber,good way to whip out the tire's:(.now i'm doing a-arm bushing's and new cam bolt's.then it's back on the rack for an alignment
changing the waterneck seem's like a waste of money to me.all you need to do is get a monkey wrench and twist the metal tube till it come's out of the waterneck.once you get it out,you can tap it with 1/8"npt (NO DRILLING REQUIRED) and then thread in a pipe plug.
the oil feed is a 12mm x 1.25...
i have this same kit and installed it without doing anything.i didn't really look that hard at the grooves though.two year's with no belt issue's and many time's up in the 7000rpm range.
i never noticed any gains with mine beside's cosmetic.they look good and saved me from buying a $100 water...

the kit i have is for the clutch fan set up on the usdm 2j water pump.i'm have electric fans and stock radiator.you can use whatever crank pulley you want,it isn't going to affect the other pulley's.i'm getting an ati crank pulley next.
the kit on my 1jz has been on there for a couple of year's.the kit didn't come with the crank pulley.i bought the kit instead of the $100 water pump pulley from toyota.i'm using the 2jzgte waterpump
