Exactly, it's all a system.
Personally, for track cars, I like stock or possibly softer than stock. Stock bars are usually decently stiff because they are normally on softly sprung cars and to give the cars any feeling of handling, you need a decent sized sway bar to cut down on body roll...
Alright guys, I'm looking to borrow your sway bars so I can test them and get accurate rates that we can all benefit from.
I have built a sway bar test rig that should work for all the supra bars, if not, I'll make another one. This is the rig I used to test S13 sway bars before...
Alright, I'm confused. Why do you need the stock headlight relay and the two Hella relays? And are you using the leads that go to the stock headlight wires to switch the two new relays?
Why can't you just use the stock wiring with the new headlights? They're just H4 housings right?

Yeah, if you have a small leak and it takes less pressure to force the water out of the leak spot than it does to open the rad cap, then the rad cap will never open and you will be losing water. So check for leaks, rebleed the system and check the rad cap. You might want to get a new cap, they...
Is it just me or does the wiring diagram on the first page not make any sense? I know you have the old wiring in there and the new wiring, but it still isn't making any sense to me.
On those relays, you have 85 and 86 are the switch side of the relay and 30 and 87 are the high power side...
A 240 is also a good car. That's what I have, the Mk3 is my brother's, so I get to play with both whenever I want. But there's a lot more parts available for the 240, that doesn't mean that they're better or that very many of them are actually that good, but there are a lot of options. In...
Grimsta, you have any specs on it? Capacity, fin count, etc? Just to compare to other options out there. I'm sure there isn't much data on the other stuff though.
But the price sounds good, as long as the quality is there, I don't see why these wouldn't be flying off the shelf.
If...
Besides all the drama going on in here, road racing an Mk3 is a lot of fun. Granted the car I drive is stripped down to about 3000lbs, running my TIP suspension setup, and I wasn't running on the best tires and it was making about stock power. But besides the brakes which need to be upgraded...
I've been doing it for a while now, not so much around town, but whenever I'm driving the car at events, I just drive it there. And I haven't had time to make an exhaust for it, so I just drive open downpipe. It's not that bad, but at least with this car, it's too loud for how slow it is...
Isn't the OE boost gauge in the same spot as the volt meter. It's just boost gauge on NA, voltmeter on Turbo. So you might have to change some of the wiring, depending on where the voltmeter is reading. And for tach, I thought they were different and that you had to swap them out. At least...
A lot.
But this is a race car. I'm planning on having it under 3000lbs with the cage. That picture is from when we measured it and it was still stock suspension and stock wheels and all the HVAC stuff was still in the car.

Some extreme stretches are stupid, there's no point and people do it just to look cool. I do like a little bit of a stretch, like the 235 on a 9.5, for drifting. It increases the cornering stiffness of the tires by essentially preloading the sidewall in the lateral direction. So compared to...
Oh ok, well then I agree. I would never MIG a 4130 cage, it's just asking for trouble. But also not heat treating a 4130 cage no matter what welding method is used is asking for trouble as well. Like you said with MIG you will heat the material too much and the area around the weld will...
235 was what I had. I've used it for drifing and for road racing. I had the car out at pocono with the 18x9+20, 18x10+18 setup on there with 225s in the front, 235s in the back. And the tires weren't what was holding the car back. But you could go a little wider in the back, a 245 should...
Well it's not going to see any NHRA stuff, so I didn't read their rules or pay attention to it. But it is legal for every sanctioning body that it will be running with.

Thanks, I was surprised at how well they fit. I had bought the wheels to use on my S13, but they look better on the supra. We did have to roll the fenders, but that's something you're going to have to do if you want good fitting wheels anyway.
18x9.5+12 front, 18x10+18 rear
235/40/18 front and rear
Work XT-7 in the front, XD-9 in the back.
I thought I had pics with the XT-7's on all around which is how it usually is, but I can't seem to find any and don't want to look anymore. But the 18x10+18 has the same outer fitment as...
