    Thoughts on a Staggered Setup?

Well a couple people are getting it, others are missing some things. What really matters is the tire diameter. If you keep them the same or close to the same, the car will sit the same way it did before. The 17/18 stagger is more of a style choice than anything. It also depends on what tires...

Anybody have an open diff for sale?

I was thinking something like a Kaaz or ATS 1.5 or 2-way LSD. We do a lot of drifting and road racing with the car, so I want something stronger and most consistent back there. A 1.5 way might be better for the road racing side of things and if I can get my hands on an ATS Carbon LSD, then I...

Anybody have an open diff for sale?

I have 2 LSD diffs so I don't need yours. I'm looking for an open as a cheap temporary alternative to getting a real diff. The car is going to be seeing a lot of drifting and the inconsistent stock LSDs just isn't cutting it, so I plan on welding an open diff. Thanks though.

Anybody have an open diff for sale?

I'm looking for an open diff for my brother's mk3. I posted in general wtb but I figured I would get a better response for local people if I posted in this section. So hopefully someone around here has one they don't need. I just need the actual diff. I don't need the ring and pinion or the...

    Lightweight 17"s

Thanks, I was looking at the wrong enkei site, no wonder I couldn't find it.

    Lightweight 17"s

Look at the RPF1's. 17x9+35, 17x9.5+38, 17x10+18 all under $300 unless you want the awesome black chrome finish. They're all light, I don't know the exact weights, I thought they were listed on Enkei's site but I don't see them. But I think they're all around 16-18lbs.

    Lightweight 17"s

Other good light weight wheels are Enkei RPF1s and NT03s. I have a set of lightweight wheels, but they're a little wider than you're looking. They're BBS race wheels, 17x10.5 and 17x11.5. They have different faces and both weight about 17-17.5 pounds each.

    Can't Remove Strut Center Nut(pics)

The shock mounts should keep the shock in place when tightening. The rears have a flat side on the hole the shaft goes through. So I don't know what you're doing unless it just didn't fit in there right. I'm not sure how the stock shocks fit in the hole, but the mount should keep the thing in...

    Exhaust Fitment

IJ, how low is your car? And were you able to run the 2.5" pipes any higher or was it just the decrease in diameter that got you the extra clearance? Also, how low is everyone else's cars and what springs are you running. I'm thinking if I can get something that sits a little higher, with...

    Exhaust Fitment

I would get the hangers as tight up to the body as I could. I'll deal with any heat issue if I have to. I mean if that's something I have to deal with because I need to raise the exhaust so I don't hit the ground, it's perfectly fine. But are there any aftermarket exhausts that are routed...

    Exhaust Fitment

No lowering springs, we're using coilovers. The car will probably be what most would say totally slammed. So that's why I'm worried about this, I just never liked the way toyota put the exhausts on these cars.

    Exhaust Fitment

Alright, we're trying to decide what exhaust to put on the car and I'm wondering are there any exhausts that sit higher and closer to the body than others. The car will be getting lowered very soon and I'm real worried about ground clearance with the exhaust especially considering the stupid...

    DOT/Snell Approved helmets

M rated helmets are designed for one large impact, like you would see when getting thrown off of a bike. SA rated helmets are designed to withstand several impacts like what will happen when rolling a car and banging your head against the roll cage a bunch of times. I think just the DOT rated...

    weighed my car today!!!

BTW, I think the 7.50 is referring to how much the original poster paid to get his car weighed. And then people were bitching about having to actually pay for the car to get weighed.

    weighed my car today!!!

There's an engine in there, we just took out all the stuff we didn't need. In the other pic and when it was weighed, the only major things that were missing are the front bumper and the exhaust from the cat. But there's still a lot more weight to be saved by replacing some stuff with...

    weighed my car today!!!

It's still missing a few things, but there's still stuff to come out and we still need to put the suspension and wheels on which should save a little weight. I would like to get it into the high 2k's before the cage goes in.

    Roll Cages?

Aren't the cheaper SW cages ERW steel which is not legal for SCCA, NASA, etc. IIRC, the DOM mild steel is the same price as chromoly, at least the last time I talked to them that's what they said. I think Dr. Jonez has one of these in his car. I remember him saying that it took some work to...

    suspension stuffs

Solid sway bars of the same diameter won't make much of a difference over a tubular sway bar depending on the wall thickness of the tube. For example, a 25mm solid bar is only about 8% stiffer than a 25mm tubular bar with a 6mm wall thickness. Of course that number is higher with a smaller...
