Ronnie do you offer all of your bushes in the hardest black compound? I have energy suspension bushes in my control arms which are black but I'm not sure what they are rated at. I'm sure someone can chime in...?
I dont necessarily care about increased steering angle as I dont drift, but I would like something for roll centre correction at least at the front to help with bump steer. Aftermarket tie rod ends would also assist with this but there's only one company that does them AFAIK and their product...
well that's good that they were willing to take you on as a customer. I have been looking at wings and this and the APR GT300 look the best, although dual element is better. Did you deal with Voltex directly rodel or did you go through a supplier?
why is the orange steering bushing so popular? is that the softest of the compounds? I would think the red would be the best from a handling point of view?
Ronnie have you got any pics of the front and rear subframe bush kits? Would these be applicable for a track car? I have some solid alloy bushes here for the front and rear but im aprehensive about fitting them. Perhaps your kit in red would be more suitable??
LD, on a seperate note, ill be in Chicago again in August, just booked my flights this week! Hopefully I can arrange a time with you to catch up and take a look at your car.
Hi John, sorry only saw this post now. Yeah that pic is at Mallala, completely missing the apex of the final turn haha. I havent competed there as such yet but have done a couple of track days. The car is currently in the middle of some large upgrades for time attack and club sprints but we are...
I sent wes a PM earlier with a link to your vid just to ask him what he thought. Is it just the control arm that moves around at the subframe end or do the toe and traction arms do the same thing?
EDIT: surely the lower camber arms and the toe arms need fixed bushes at the subframe attachments...
woah! that sucks. I have the full set of his arms at home that i havent had a chance to fit yet but thats disappointing. So what's actually causing the knocking sound, the rod end hitting against the subframe? I can see that the swaybar would mimick what you are doing with your hand but there...
Interesting that the sway bar made the handling worse. What spring rates are you running? Maybe just a stock rear bar would be better? I drove my car without a rear sway bar for a week and the handling was scary! Also re: the wes arms, are they an improvement over what was there before?
the only benefit would be to generate some feel and response in the track. unfortunately no one makes off-the-shelf quick racks for the MK3 but it would be nice.
thanks for the replies guys.
are there any drawbacks with going 1200cc injectors? they are the same price as 1000cc and I think it would be nice to have the headroom. Also, i see a lot of people using RC, what sort of quality are they? Best place to purchase?
Albert, have you got any info on your fuel rails? Id like to take a look! Power wise intitially it wont be much more than 380rwhp (limited by the stock twins) but down the track id like to shoot for 350-400rwkw which is in the vacinity of 550rwhp.
Well, I hardly drive my car anymore and its becoming more of a track orientated build by the day. Its currently due to have a haltech PS2000 ECU wired in with a total new map and E85 has just become more readily available here in Adelaide, Australia. I figured i'll take the plunge and go E85...
Its amusing to think that TRD japan set their cars up based on fads, I guess it was the 80s after all haha.
John, what sort of subframe mounts does your car use at the front and rear? I assume NOT that terrible floating rubber style of the factory cars...but what you are saying is that the...
