Looking good so far. Make sure to take your time wet sanding the early steps because it gets harder to make it smooth as you progress. If you arent already, ass some dish soap to your water bucjet for wet sanding...you will notice a differance. Also, try to wet sand in one direction with the...
I learned the basics on my snowmobiles and mini bikes as a kid. My dad was a great asset because he was once a tractor trailer mechanic and still does alot of work to his current vehicles. He has a substantial ammount of tools which Im allowed to use and I have guidance if I get in over my...
When my car was bone stock I ran a 15.5 at 93. This was my first time at the drag strip ever and I only made the one run. When I went back the next year I had a cat back and an intake. This time I ran 14.4 but I forget the MPH. I think with my mods that I have now I should be somewhere in...
HOLY FUCK. I guess I clicked on the wrong thread. I thought I was going to learn about why Duane had to withdraw from the competition and possibly what/how the competiton should be caried out in the future. Then I get in here and more people are turning this damned forum into a Supraforums...
Im impressed...a 17 yo that can take responsibility for his actions. Your wrong...you sound responsible enough for the car and everyone makes mistakes. Hope you dont get screwed too bad paying for his car and that your car is back on the road soon.
I got them from Cooleeze. Bought them off ebay through his ebay store. I would highly recommend buying from him. They havent arrived yet buy I have been kept up to date on the progress as he builds them.

A few pics of the Mk3 and the Mk2 project.
This was taken at the TORO 06 annual meet. I love parking on grass...makes the front end touch the ground:biglaugh:

Just an FYI...the original lug nuts on the Mk3 will work with the wheels regardless of the cap style. Im running them right now and have no clearance issues.
HAHAHA...that made my day. Ya, that cat right there is the one you want for flow. Now weld a pipe on the inside to smooth out flow. Or buy a high flow if you want to pass emissions.
Some of the best money I ever spent.

When I had my head done I swapped my cams over to a head fresh out of the machine shop. It took over an hour to completely re-shim that head. Such a pain in the ass but it was worth it. I have practically no valvetrain noise compared to others I have listened to. I would say try and swap them...
