    The Mistress

I'm not worried about a fuse blowing... that's their job. This one, however, didn't just blow the fuse - it welded the posts to the spade clips in the fuse holder, melted the fuse and it's holder, and then, finally, popped the fuse itself. I'm using the fans from Adrenaline Motorsports - they...

Wow... this should tick off the Vegans...

Unicorn meat t-shirts! http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/womens/e58b/ LOL - I damn near spit up laughing when I saw these. I need to find a little girl infatuated with Unicorns... how horrific would it be unwrapping this on your birthday if you were 10, female, and infatuated with...

    Interesting 92 on Ebay

It's over the reserve now... note that it's only had three bidders to date.

What size fuse did you end up with? I'm currently running a single 30a, but I was considering switching to dual fuses and dual relays, one for each fan.

Place Your Bets! Dyno Tuning Tomorrow!

Depends... some of them are very different. The one I'm thinking about still uses short vacuum lines, but has a long cable actuated adjustment knob that mounts in the cabin. Problem is, if you're going to spend that kind of money on a boost controller, why in the world wouldn't you buy an...

    oh HAI!!! :)

I've got a spare room you're welcome to borrow, and I know all the local attractions - one of the benefits of having a missus that works in the tourist industry. I have to warn you though, Toronto is in Ontario, and both of 'em are a bit of a hike from here. There is a railway you can walk...

    The Mistress

Finally gotten some seat time with the new alignment. What a difference! The car doesn't like going sideways anymore, just wants to go straight - and preferably very fast. Had an incident with my electric fans yesterday, noticed the temp was starting to climb when I got home from a quick run...

Place Your Bets! Dyno Tuning Tomorrow!

The in-cabin ones work, but I've always used a boost controller as a set and forget style item. So they are a bit of a pain to get dialed in right, but once that's done, why have another control in the cabin that you're never going to touch?

    "I don't care" (nws language)

There used to be one called Fantashokata that was FULL of win... everything was subtitles in Bollywood Indian film clips. The original audio was left untouched. It was so funny it made my belly hurt at times. Unfortunately, it seems to have vanished. :( These carebear ones are kinda weak by...

    oh HAI!!! :)

Nice to meet you, congratulations on netting one of the best genuinely nice guys out there. You should come out to Canada for the honeymoon! :)

AC and heat not working. Any Ideas as to why?

I think you should find a better magician. :)

    Aux fan, push or pull?

Well, mine may work fine in the heat, however, my definition of heat probably doesn't match yours. I live on the west coast of Canada, with max temps at under 30C for the most part, and that really rarely. You live in Arizona, where you can fry an egg in the palm of your hand if you're...

Is this a raised cowl hood? Seems like it.

NO way would I ever buy a hood that some clown has watermarked with their company logo / name. That's freaking ugly. Ok, ok, I realize that the watermark is just the photo, not the actual goods, but that's freaking ridiculous - they've spent so much time trying to make sure nobody can steal...

AC and heat not working. Any Ideas as to why?

There is a good chance that the AC and the heat are two separate issues. For the heat, check that the heater control valve is actually working. It's in the engine bay on the passenger side of the firewall - the big vacuum actuated valve that connects to coolant lines from the back of the head...

    Aux fan, push or pull?

That's not where you would see an improvement anyway. The AC system can only put out air at a certain temp - any lower, and it will suffer from icing, which will fubar the system. The key is how much work the compressor has to do, and the way to measure that would be to check how much time the...

Built motor, instant rod knock, Advice going forward?

Depends on the cause. For instance, if a single bearing had a fault, or was installed with too much clearance, it wouldn't cause damage anywhere else, therefore replacing just the bearings along with a nice polish on the crank would suffice. If, however, it failed due to sandblasting media in...

Built motor, instant rod knock, Advice going forward?

Bearing clearances too loose? New oil squirters? Crank oil galleys cleaned? I don't know if I'd personally go any further than finding / fixing the fault and replacing the bearings... but I'll freely admit, I've never been in your shoes.

You couldn't pay me a million dollors to do this once! EVER!

Hell, I'd do that for free. Looks like a blast! Worst case, you slip and fall... and at that height, you've got a long time to think about your screwup on the way down. :)

    Supra rattle noise

Mild rod knock tends to appear as the engine goes from load to decel. Best method I've found to make it happen is to pump the throttle so that the RPMs peak around the 2500 mark, and you can hear the rattle as the engine transfers from spinning up to starting to spin down. Diagnosing it is...

    Windshied Washer Reservoir Differences

Another note - if you're adding a pump for that water injection, careful where you mount it. My first one was mounted in a non-weatherproof area, and odd though it may sound, the water pump is not water proof. After that one died from terminal corrosion inside the electric motor, my new one...
