Ok, you're wrong. :) This hose is used to drain oil from the head back into the oilpan. (It also carries the PCV gas as well, which are also thoroughly oiled.) You need to use a hose that's capable of handling oil. If you use a coolant hose, it will rot out in short order, and start spilling...

If unplugging the door sensors takes care of the door lights, then the door sensor(s) are faulty.
