    Old oil = Burning oil?

Coolant too, for that matter. Average coolant is good for 2 years, long life OAT based coolant is only good for 5. If you've got the typical Prestone in there, it's well past time for a flush.

    Oil Pressure Gauge Reading Low

Sounds like you need a new radiator and radiator cap, at the very least.

Time to pick brains for spare parts suggestions.

The 88 usually has that stupid rubber plug by the firewall. Have a look at the back of the engine on the exhaust side, there should be a hardpipe there about as big around as your thumb, with a short branch off it that's stopped by a plug. The plugs cost ~$1 from the dealer, and they are prone...

Agreed! Threads with no answer are useless junk that litter up the database.

^^^ What he said... and: Stock oil pumps are fine. I'm not sure what the G-forces during the turns are like for Lemons, but you might want to work on baffling the pan a bit better, there's folks who have starved the oil pickup in high G corners. Or mess with the oil pickup. Or run an extra...

    XTD Clutch scam!

Sounds to me like he's trying to level the playing field by dragging the competition's reputation down to his level. The problem is, he didn't take out his wrath on the right guy. And it's not like he can sue 'the internet' anyway. From here forward, I'd suggest anyone selling this guy...

    Supraforums may harm your computer

Yuppers... same here. You using Firefox? No idea what's going on, whether they're getting hacked or what, (the version of vBulletin they use *is* rather old, with quite a few known vulnerabilities) but I've stopped visiting until they get it cleaned up.

I need advice, motor is knocking

Sorry, I'm not following the logic... among other things, if you're going to move to a different Toyota powerplant, the 1G is the last engine I'd pick. That's the economy engine that was only offered in right hand drive countries - primarily Japan. They didn't export it to North America...

Truth - however, I drive in the metro Vancouver area, which means snow maybe once every 4-5 years, and they rarely salt the roads because it doesn't drop below freezing any more often, either. Thanks! No, that's an old picture, there's no snow here yet, not even up in the mountains. Hasn't...

So, you like coolant designed for diesel cars or engines with cylinder liners? What's the advantage there? The Supra isn't diesel, and none of the Supra engines have cylinder liners, what else does this formula bring to the table? Toyota red is an organic acid based coolant, specifically...

I need advice, motor is knocking

Replacing is certainly cheaper, the problem is, you're then left with an engine that is still an unknown quality. If you pull out the one you have, put in new pistons, rods, bearings, valves, etc, plus get all the right machine work done and bolt it together with a metal head gasket at the...

Personally, I lean towards rebuilding what I already have... but I've got a lot of experience with these cars, and I live in a very urban area with a lot of excellent machinists available. I don't recognize your location, so I'm not sure what your circumstances are in the same regard.
