try 4.5 spr then work your way up on the duty cycle.
i found that if i run to high of a spring pressure i would get massive boost spikes. then again every car is different. i sorta didn't like my truboost at first, but once i got it dial i love it. and the scramble boost is so much fun when...
my old 89t had it. and i hated it. to me it seemed like it would stiffen up after i already exited the corner. my new 89t i decided to not hook it up even though i had all the parts and the entire car torn down to the shell...
a good aftermarket set owns the stock tems even when its on hard...
i would replace the plastic hard line with regular vacuum line. its most likely cracked. also make sure you can blow through it first though. also the t. vacuum ports and lines can get clogged.
does you stock boost gauge show boost? they share the same vacuum sorce.
rich won't timing be drastically effected by the change in height. i think its roughly for every .020"/.5mm removed timing gets retarded 12 degrees on OHC motors.
is this something anyone even considers when choosing a hg? yeah the compression ration is only going to be changed by a tenth or...
retorque the crank pully.
when i had rod knock on my first supra it got a little over a quart low ONCE. that was all it took. then a couple months later it went after knocking for those months. on teardown the bearing was about as thin as a piece of paper. that block lives on though...
i would lightly use fine steel wool and motor oil if it doesn't just wipe away. a drill and wire wheel will fuck shit up.
did the shop even hone your cylinders? and they charged you way too much to clean the block. did you make sure they didn't hot tank it?
hope it works out.
i said the nipple on the 90 fitting's OD is 5/16". the hose ID is 5/16". they say earls on them so it has to be an earls line apparently. here is a pic.
and nosechunks i got the lines, fittings, and afpr from some dude in canada.
a lot if you run them hard and don't keep up with things.
me its mainly tires, clutches, and a shit load of gas. autocrossing and drag racing every event doesn't help but it sure is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
well IJ if its that simple then why can't i seem to find anything even close to my ss line in earls brand? everywhere i look it doesn't have 5/16 .3125" ID. even on earls full selection on holly.com it doesn't have them. so i guess i'm just going to order the AN-4 from jegs and see how it fits...
apparently there is no an-5. thats the whole reason i have this post. really my question is with the nipple of the fitting being 5/16" what an- size do i get when my options are only an-4 and an-6?
well zum thats what i thought until i started to measure these things. i have the earls fitting right in my hand and the OD of the nipple is 5/16". so does that mean i get the an-4 or an-6? i figure the an-4 and cram it on there but i'm not positive. here is what earls has for 1/4"/an-4...
dropped the block off at the machine shop yesterday.
rich come next week and i'll find out. yeh
will do jdub.
IJ i totally thought the same thing. i grabed one of my old hg layed it down and it was inside the jacket ring and not anywhere near the compression ring so i figured it would...
i don't have much experience with them and have a couple questions. can i use any ss line with the earls fittings like an-4 or dm ss ones or does it have to be earls line? also what is the an- size and size in " or cm off the return?
this will help me out a lot. thanks.
so i have this block that i want to build. its a later 7m block that has never been bored over and is in great shape other than this coolent jacket seems pretty extreme to me. its not quite in the compression ring but its pretty dam close. do you think this will machine out to where its...
