    sounds like an exhaust leak (as you already said) with the leaky elbow connection. since you said it happened under load (going up hill) i bet what you are hearing is the wastegate opening and leaking a higher pitched air out.

    its condensation. mine does the same thing. yesterday i installed my new turbo and we had temps in the 80s, we got done at night and the temp had dropped to the upper 60's lower 70s, little water in the tip and some out the back. normal. your turbo seals are going though

    idle should be a little on the high side when the motor is cool and then drop to 650 after there has been sufficient time to warm up.
