Yea, it goes super rich towards redline.
keep in mind this car was street tuned and the AFRS were a pretty consistant 11.7 under boost.
on the chart..
3.5K RPM's is where it dips down to ~12:1
5k RPM's it goes lean towards 13:1
6K RPM it's back down to ~12:1 and getting richer towards...
IJ's right, it should be MUCH higher. I doubt holding boost to redline and revving it out would give me another 100+ WHP. IDK whats wrong..
well It stays in 2nd just fine, but I can't shift fast into 2nd.. I have to double-clutch to get it into 2nd.
Yea, the motor pulls/sounds/feels great. It's really not laggy until you put a lot of boost on it. There is pleanty of power in all gears but I havn't been able to take advantage of 1st or 2nd because of my 2nd gear synchro being shot.
I agree, next time I'll definately run some race gas considering it's looking like Meth is not 129 octane as I thought. The extra insurance can't hurt.
I wasn't in the car when the tech did the pulls, and unfortunately I didn't realize my boost was dropping off until the middle of the last...
looking at other dyno graphs I feel like now that I fixed the boost falling off problem.. I'm making my peak HP and torque at the same place as other cars making 600+ RWHP. I'm gonna hold off a little while on dynoing again, at least until it's cooler outside. 97* temps can't help #'s.
yea, I googled it and can't find anything on it.. :(
I don't know what the problem is. I really don't think it's cams, my timing is conservative but I upped it considerably on the dyno (I'll definately post my timing when I get back home).
I'm starting to think maybe the 3mm HG was way too...
I read on the scooby forums that meth was 129 octane?
Also with a 50/50 mix with 93 octane (using the appropriate nozzle size per calculator) snow performane techs was claiming 116 octane on their forum.. that one I'm not buying..
I'm running 1600cc's of methanol/water (85%meth, 15% h20). Detonation shouldn't be a problem.
Honestly I don't know what the problem is.. I guess I'll keep playingwith it.
Thanks everyone, I took it out today..
Tightened the BOV
Replaced some suspicious vac. lines
fixed my gain % on my boost controller
I think the biggest difference was adjusting the gain. Before the dyno I had the gain set at 1/2 of what it is now.. no wonder my boost was falling off. Now...
I'll have to go get my laptop later to tell you my timing #'s.. but judging by my dyno sheet I hit 29PSI at about 4.7K RPMS..
I'm also suspecting a boost leak (IC pipe has been working its way out for awhile until it blew today).
exactly what I was thinking.. I'm also going to weld a dump valve into my downpipe for some extra power.
i was going to up the gain on the boost controller to see if I could get some higher #'s but a blew an IC pipe on the last run.
Stock N/A cams.. Blitz SBCID boost controller.. I have a HKS Style wastegate with a 10 PSI spring...
I'm starting to think that my problem is trying to run so much boost on a 10 PSI spring.. can anyone confirm this as a problem?
Notice on the graph how I hit max power and then it...
Well guys... the good news.. I drove the car home.
The bad news.. 505 RWHP 497 RWTQ @... (here's the disappointing part) 29 PSI :(
I was having boost control problems.. I'd hit target boost but then it would fall off towards redline (as you will see when I post the chart).
