just looked, it appears to be true, i was not expecting that.

It also looks like pennzoil is listing a 0w-30 euro formula (no specs) but they list it as an oil they make...interesting
sounds like a F&F story...and about the oil, if your 10w30 has a 40* C viscosity of 63cst then yes it is in fact easier to pump than the GC with its 66cst viscosity. I would be surprised if that really is true..
hmmm, well, I won't recommend running high boost with the stock gasket with unknown history (torque specs) but my car has over 20000 miles on it running 12-14 lbs, the car fuel cuts right around 14-15 lbs, on the stock head gasket. I can monitor AFR's though to help make sure it will not be...
Alright I have just a couple questions about this. I am seriously considering going with a 01-05 USDM lexus IS Torsen T2 and want to make sure that it fits. Has anybody tried this and confirmed that it worked and that our factory ring and pinion can still be used? If this is the case I will...
Well I ended up going with an 87 audi 5000CS quattro as the winter beater. Hopefully it ends up as a good decision. So far I am happy for less than 1k invested.
Ive had it DT the last 2 years (parked safely though :)) and lived near Camp Randall. Now I live in Mcfarland though. Where are are you living?
I have yet to see another red mk3 around town ( white turbo, burgandy turbo, and a pretty rough silver one only) so its probably likely you saw my car.
I thought the system had an accelerometer as well but I guess not since I don't see it in the diagram (thought I read that somewhere!), so cornering acceleration is not one of the inputs used.
uhhh, tems does not have a magic brain that knows how shot your shocks are. It is an electrical system that uses various inputs to decide where the actuators should be set for a certain throttle/brake/steer positions and cornering accelleration and vehicle speed. The lights should all light...
I think I found a quattro turbo audi to pick up for the winter otherwise I would seriously consider running another supra. But I figure if I can get a quattro I will probably enjoy driving in the snow a little more. Even with snows you gotta be careful with the RWD, but lots of fun in the...
How much did you port it? I ported mine as big as the stock flapper allows 29mm and it made a huge difference. The car is much better now, I can handle it only FC at 130, but it does prevent the top speed runs :)
And about map ecu and map ecu 2 where do you pick them up, any vendor that you...
I think the factory holder works fine...If you have an open container and you care about stuff spilling in your interior you drive in a non aggressive manner. Driving this way the factory 89+ cup holders work fine. I agree the location is poor and you have to hold your arm different to shift...
I might be intersted in it as a winter car but I am trying to get a late 80/early 90's audi 90/200 quattro I-5 5 spd. If anyone sees one for sale they should let me know.
If I can't find one I am interested in I would definitely rock the supra with Snows :)
Porting my wastegate definitely made a huge improvement. Before the port I would FC in 2nd gear, the car now holds boost fine (8 psi to redline) until about the top of third, top of 4th and from 125 mph on in 5th but only FC's in 5th at around 130 mph and 13 lbs of boost. As I said I think the...
Mr Viper,
I would personally want to have a solid 11.5 afr under boost. And as far as I know, from his very own description, he is very close be fuel cut free, so a tune which adjusts the AFM signal at his current boost level could make the car no longer fuel cut @ the same boost level. How...
I installed the boost controller after the DDP and ported wastegate and yes, it has overboosted the entire time. Keep in mind it is not spiking, it is creeping up on my car.
Gaboon,
I know you are quite well versed in a lot of this stuff but I think your thoughts on this are incorrect.
If the car IS running rich (around 10.5:1) he will be able to use the SAFC to intercept the AFM signal under open loop (boost), and lower the amount of fuel at a particular points...
