YES you do. A lex afm allows more air into your engine. With that, youll need more fuel. A lex afm without 550's, or jsut using a fuel cut defencer can lead to a melted piston very quickly. The stock 440's shouldnt go past 14 PSI....

12psi on a stock turbo. There is no MAX BOOST on any motor. Its all about maintance. I personnaly wouldnt turn the boost up from stock untill you do some things to your engine. Replace worn hoses, belts and gaskets. The head gaskets on these cars do tend to fail at higher horsepower levels, but...
