Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

With my experience, I've always known alcohol to dry rubber out when it evaporates.

Take a look, what do you think?

That's what I was considering, but everything seems to be running perfectly so I ruled it out. My Voltmeter shows everything as running within the optimal range so.

    Led gauge conversion

How bright is this in person? Can it be controlled from the dimmer or no? I'd want to change out my faded JDM amber for maybe some more vibrant amber or to white like in the thread posted in the page before.

Take a look, what do you think?

I think that one of the previous owners had the battery spill on them. Probable cause? It's a very fine pitting in the paint across all the darker areas. It doesn't appear to have gone down to bare metal.

Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

It was mostly the firewall and inner fenders that were all dirty. I tried to scrub the pipes that lead to turbo A & turbo B and the intake manifold, they came out a bit cleaner. Other than that, I didn't really do much.

    What engine would this be??

No no, I was referring to when you proposed that the 1G was swapped into the MA70, I know there's no such thing as a LHD GA70

Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

Engine bay after using diluted Go-Jo (the green slimey stuff , not the white pumice filled stuff) Don't mind the coil pack harness, the coils are out along with the plugs for winter storage purposes. The before pic is on the right. The left pic was taken about 3 hours ago.

    What engine would this be??

Sorry about that, I import many of them so when I see a supra with a 1G I automatically thing GA70. It is possible though. Either way, it's not a common motor for a LHD supra.

Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

To remedy this, I put a coffee filter around the suction tube for the nozzle to prevent any grit from getting through.

    I feel stupid aski this...?

This is true, RHD mirrors are convexed on the left (drivers side in north america) as opposed to the passenger side. Other than that, the lenses are no different. I don't believe my JZA70 has heated mirrors. I don't winter drive it so I've never used the defrost to try it out

Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

As odd as it sounds, yea, it works amazingly. Figure, if it will take all that crap off your hands when you're done working on your car, it'll clean up your car. Just make sure you dilute it down to the point where it's not a sludgy slime and it flows like water. I thought the same...

    RHD alarm?

you should check the TSRM (google search TSRM) to see where the alarm box module is. Then check to see if you have it on your car.

    RHD alarm?

My '91 RHD doesn't have one but I know that some of these came with factory installed alarms. Someone with one would be able to help you out with that. Is there any sort of indication that your car would have one? (Horn beeps when you key lock the car, any stickers, lights, etc...)

Here is my engine bay. What is safe to use for cleaning it?

I use a mixture of your average citrus degreaser and Go-Jo hand cleaner, diluted with water so it's not a slimely texture. Go-Jo hand cleaner diluted to a liquid instead of a slime works really well. I cleaned my firewall and fender wells inside my engine bay and they came out looking like new.

I feel like an idiot for asking this...

Thanks Rajunz, I'm new to the whole 1JZ Supra thing so I'm just trying to see what everyone out there is using and get some input from people who've tried and testing different fluids and who have a "set in stone" fluid for every catagory of their car.

I feel like an idiot for asking this...

Thank you for the vote of confidence jdub, I can't wait to run my baby with this stuff come spring time. I had heard that the Napa Gold, Wix & PureOne filters were essentially the same thing but I wasn't sure so. Remember though, in Arizona you guys don't have the insane humidity like we do...
