Have you set the TPS properly? Make sure the climate control is off, and that the accelerator is returning all the way to the closed position as well.

Well, as for the Vipec, I'm running one - 2J single, 568 rwhp on pump with water / meth injection, daily driver for well over a year now. It's been awesome, I get better fuel mileage than I did on my stock 7M.

While you're at it, don't put that piece back in. Those hatch speakers don't do much, unless you count making your sound muddy. They are extremely simple to remove, just a couple bolts and the plug.
