Yes, you should. If it's too high, no big deal. If it's too low, you'll mangle your fender liners on the tires. You should also clean the threads and make sure the locking rings rotate freely all the way up and down the threads.

Well, as for the Vipec, I'm running one - 2J single, 568 rwhp on pump with water / meth injection, daily driver for well over a year now. It's been awesome, I get better fuel mileage than I did on my stock 7M.
I've said this before... buy the EMS you can get support for. If you have a local tuner that does good work, buy what they like working with that has the features you need.
Nothing sucks more than trying to get a tuner to travel to your location, or shipping your vehicle to another state for...
While you're at it, don't put that piece back in. Those hatch speakers don't do much, unless you count making your sound muddy. They are extremely simple to remove, just a couple bolts and the plug.
