At my local steelyard, 1.75 Mild steel DOM tubing goes for about $80 for a 20ft length. Certainly not the best pricing, but its close and convenient. Maybe a good option would be to just buy the main hoop and 6x6 floor plates from S&W, and source some tubing for the rest of the cage and...
The S&W cage is an ok base if you want just a basic cage. The main hoop is decent, but could be tighter, door bars may need to be bent slightly to clear the armrest, many joints need to be notched, etc. Its a decent place to start from, but if you're going to make so many modifications to a...
If you want the cage to be legal for drag racign purposes, by all means, avoid autopower. It might be legal in some lower SCCA classes, but you'd have to check. For drag, weld-in is the only way to go.
At that point, just an AFC...if you want to up the boost much more than that or get a bigger turbo, then you'll want to look into injectors, and some more advanced tuning devices. Feel free to get in touch with me here if you need anything...
Although you may have verified the key is in fine shape, that doesnt necessarily mean the balancer is correct. The rubber elastomer between the 2 portions of the balancer may be compromised and allowed them to rotate on each other a bit. Verify TDC with the IJ method of a chopstick thru the #1...
Not caused by the wastegate. Its indicative of too small a turbine or a/r. A 67mm with a q-trim, and a .96 a/r or even an .81 a/r will have no issues pulling to redline for your setup. I wouldnt go crazy and oversize the whole turbo just because you have the spool-valve. Pick a compressor that...
7m can make 1000, as Rich said, it already has made that (and more) in Gary's dragster.
In reference to the 2j, the 7m will NEVER have the power potential of a proper 2j. This is not debatable. Limited bore = limited valve size = ultimately limited flow. You can port the head as much as you...
Maybe try calling Spec and see what the specs are on the MC they include with their twin disc clutch. I tried to see if they had specs of it on their page but didnt come across any. I suppose its worth a shot....unless youre dead set on using a toyota one.
In addition to the stereo surround that i have, i have a blue dash that you can attempt to dye gray if you'd like. You can basically HAVE the stuff....its in a parts car that may very well end up in a scrapyard soon....
I'm up in Newington, and i have a spare stereo/climate control surround, and a Sony cd/mp3 player that's never been used....Let me know if interested....
EXACTLY why i didn't have one :) She got me a docking station too since my work just blocked out ALL internet radio sites, so now i have music again at work. Yay! (its the only thing that keeps me sane all night):)
BTW, what are you doing on SM? get back in the kitchen and make something...
