It sure should! You're gonna need a tighter converter with all that torque! ;) I got a turbo v8 build on my hands at the moment too...should have a thread going in the next couple weeks..

Brent, since you're not auto, i would give 15-20* a try and see what happens. Adding some more fuel there wouldnt hurt either.
Ian, most auto drag guys advance their timing a lot to get into boost and "on the converter". Completely opposite of the clutch guys :)

Tranny selection should really be based more on the amount of power being made, the gear ratio, converter, and the tire type/size. There are lots of guy in the domestic world with cars over 3200lbs that use glides. Cars that make well over 1500 hp on a small radial that need that high 1st gear...
Keith, sorry to hear that. But you gotta do what you gotta do. It's hard enough as it is year after year even with the sponsors, so I can see how its nearly impossible without them. But hey, look on the plus side. My car might actually be done for the next one in 2010. Maybe.
