    Project Clean 87

I had my buddy Trevor (northwestsupra) paint my cam gears, radiator hold down brackets, and hydrofan reservoir bracket flat black today. Looks really good. I'll have him paint my hood struts shortly, gotta pick-up the other one from Independent Speed Shop Friday. I picked up a new hood strut...

Thanks. This new flushmount setup is wayyy cleaner than my previous setups. Full magazine coverage is my goal. All it takes is money and time. Mostly money :D

    Project Clean 87

Just got off the phone with Bill, my spare block is toast. Rust in all the cylinders. We're just going to swap the cranks. The crank is already pulled from my spare block and looks good. I ordered new front and rear main seals, all the o-rings for the oil pump, the o-ring for the water pump...

6M, 5M, 7M, it's all the same to me clutter wise :D Clean work done, although I would have used black instead of blue since the contrast is so great. The black hoses would really help clean up the engine bay. You could also polish the PS reservoir since it's aluminum. Mine only took me a...

    The Mistress

LOL, that's how it always goes Dave. We both know that a 1-day job is really a 2-week job, if you're lucky. Looks really good, I'm sure that without the flash it's much darker.

    Project Clean 87

A little more progress. My buddies and I polished my water neck some more and got rid of some ridges in it, along with painting my radiator hold down brackets and hydrofan reservoir satin black (I'm thinking of repainting them flat black for a more stealth look). And since I was having...

Hence why I edit my post every time I feel my engine bay has been sufficiently improved. We all know the engine bay is never done (just ask Duane).

My New daily - 1997 Eclipse GST

Unfortunately the wing is OEM, but this wing would look much better on it. It's the OEM 96 GST wing. Or better yet, go wingless.

My New daily - 1997 Eclipse GST

Not bad, my buddy had a 96 GST convertible and it was a pretty fun car. Had an Evo turbo on it. Too bad traction was an issue all the time. Are you going to get rid of the wing and change out the tail lights so it's not riced out? If you did it would look pretty clean.

    Project Clean 87

Went to Canada for the day to see it for the first time in about 2 months. First Bill Bowering and I pulled the motor, then I pulled the valve covers, cam gears, and the water neck off the motor. I also removed the old heat wrap from the down pipe and turbo manifold. For the rest of the day I...

It's practically a sin in America to move back in with your parents

Moving back in with the parents to save money?

For me and my wife we could save $400 per month. We just cut out $84 per month in entertainment expenses. For the last 3 years we have been living off my MGIB, but it is about to run out in June and we're heavy in cc debt. And one of my credit cards just raised my interest rate from 9.9% to...

Moving back in with the parents to save money?

Just curious, who here has moved away from home only to have to move back in with your parents to save money? The times are tough and it's really easy to get deep in trouble financially with credit cards and such.

I agree HKS_TRD. When I went single I had the nipples removed from my water neck that comes off the thermostat housing and polished it up. It looks 100x better now.

It's not the 7M that I have an issue with, it's the clutter. IBoughtASupra, I do recognize your efforts as being good quality work (and I too spent about $100 on a braided AN line that's just a breather line) that I respect, and I do see that the engine can be easy to work on, but it just seems...

Maybe I'm just a harsh critic, but the engine bay you posted is ok, but not elite. Too much clutter (wires, harness's, hoses) for my taste. I've spent countless hours relocating electronics and other components to clean up the engine bay. When I work on my engine I'm constantly looking for...
