I took my wife on a 5 day vacation in Portland and got back last night. While there I did my 30k mile maintenance. Luckily my step-dad manages a NAPA so I got a killer discount on the parts. I changed all this:
Oil
oil filter
spark plugs
spark plug wires
distributor cap and rotor...
Looks like Arizona doesn't have any restrictions on GoPeds so long as they are under 50cc's and don't go faster than 35 MPH. Wear a helmet (not required if you're older than 17) and enjoy the commute. I used to have a 30 MPH GoPed, pretty fun suckers. I want to get an off-road one with the...
Long story short, I'm a Marine Corps veteran who got medically retired (severance pay and monthly VA disability pay). When I got out in December 2007 I was rated at 20% service connected disability. Fast forward to today, everything I was rated for is in worse shape (especially my back) and...
Maybe 5 MPG. Dunno really. I've been getting 45.7 MPG on average over my last 10 fill-ups (7 of them being this month). I will be filling up again tomorrow so we'll see how effective it really is. Got atleast 100 miles of driving to do tomorrow.
Got the rear side skirts completed today along with the install of the front belly pan and removal of my front air dam. Looks pretty good I'd say. I just need to figure out how to do the rear belly pan.
Time for an update. I replaced my tires a few weeks ago with new ones that are the propper size (155/80-13). And today I started work on the rear wheel skirts. I got the passenger side complete (took me a couple hours), so tomorrow I'll fab up the drivers side skirt. Once that's done I'll...
I always run premium (usually 91-92 octane, depending on where you are). Running any lower octane will fry your motor (I've done it before). The 1JZ is a boosted motor, so running a lower octane will burn faster and cause detonation. And like destrux said, run only top tier gas. I use Shell...
I vote the 15th since I already have a car show scheduled for the 14th. Sunday would be better I think since some of us do work Saturdays (not me though :) )
I noticed that at the bottom of my radiator support (the center piece that unbolts) there is a sensor. I've searched and haven't come up with an answer as to what it is. Anybody know? Thanks. I can provide a pic if needed.

Went to the shop yesterday and took the motor and replacement crank to the machine shop. They will start working on it on Monday, so it should be done by mid to late next week. Who says a Geo Metro can't be a truck?
Nothing exciting today, just picked up bunch of seals and o-rings and a lower radiator hose from the stealership. Headed up to the shop tomorrow to take my motor to the machinist and drop off parts. It'll be interesting having my 1JZ in the back of my Geo Metro :D
