I was thinking about it due to the fact that I have no way of removing the engine/tranny combo, and I don't want to have to disconnect the engine just to swap trannies.

Here's the thread I tried to reply to, but it's over 666 days old so sm won't let me!

Sorry to bring this back, but I have a question for those of you who replaced the tranny only. When you detach...
Hahaa, you wish Ian. She was helping me by cleaning up the dash and door panels and glass. She said she just had to clean it, so I felt obliged to let her :icon_bigg The more I can do to get her liking the car, the more time I can spend with it!:biglaugh:. She says she really likes it though...
Yeah, a huge strip of plastic from the top rad tank is gone :icon_razz. A friend of the guy who did this to the car walked past lsat night as i prepped it for tow, and told us his friend, within 10 days, exploded the rad like you see, and exploded the tranny. To quote him " the transmission go...
I have the car in my parking spot as of tonight! So after $178.00 and 3 calls to CAA later, I have the car and I have a key for the doors and a key that works in the ignition! Turns out the previous owner must have changed the ignition cylinder because the key for the doors is waaay different...
Hey guys, I really need a radiator for my 87 auto turbo. If you have an auto rad, and will sell it cheap then let me know. Maybe you have one sitting on your parts car, or in the garage collecting dust! Mine is blown on the top plastic so I need to replace!

Yeah, it is locked as in no movement. Plus the ignition cylinder is in the LOCK position too. So this white pin I see facing inwards to the steering column is not the pin you guys say has to be pushed in? In the TSRM it looked like it was, but Shaeff you say there is another pin on the botom...
Whoa! If your locks don't work from the inside then I would assume there is something disconnected from the linkages in the door. Why not open it up and check? Takes 5 minutes to get the door panel off tops and you will be able to see everything inside the door relatd to door locking.

I'm going back on saturday to hopefully figure this out. The car only has 135,000km so the tumblers are still good i would bet. I tried several keys, tried jiggling it, pulled out slightly and nothing! My only idea left is putting a screwdriver on the white release button and pounding it with a...
Code is located on the flat edge on the top of the passenger lock cylinder. You have to take it out of the door to see the code. It took me about 50 minutes on my first try. Only the passenger door cylinder has the code on the whole car.
eric
I think i know what you are talking about. The white thing on the inside side facing the wheel right? The TSRM says to set the ignition to ACC and then push that white thing and the cylinder comes out. My problem is I cannot get the cylinder to ACC as it won't budge from LOCK so I don't know if...
Hey, I had a key cut today for my car, you know what car if you followed my thread :icon_razz. The key only works on the doors! I tried on the ignition and trunk and it does not open or turn at all. The lock doesn't seem frozen, the key just eems to be wrong. I know the cut is right as toyota...
Wow that's an interresting idea. I'd be worried about poking the hole only to find out that I missed the lever! hahaaa. I can't weld anything so it might start to rust no? Oh and btw nobody worry about thread jacking I enjoy all the little stories as long as you don't start talking about ghost...
Update
So I have the ownership now, along with a bill of sale for $10.00 :icon_bigg petty good deal. I had to pay him back for getting me the ownership, eventhough he didn't want any money. Today I tried to go get the key tumbler to get a key made. I though CAA would come and unlock the car...
Could someone use one or two mk4 side-mount intercoolers and mount them in lieu of the fog lights so that air fed right into them? Just a late night idea.
eric
Can you post pics of your fenders? Not the pic from the ebay ad? I want to see them from a real customer, maybe hold them up next to the car, or mount them :icon_bigg
eric
Yeah, though about that too. He has no idea where I live so once I tow the car it won't be seen for a long time heh. I plan on replacing the locks eventually anyway. Lets hope he doesn't tow it himself before I can get it hah!
eric
The woman and her husband finally said the car is officially mine and i can tow it away and have it. I'm going to pick up the ownership either Monday or Tuesday next week, and then I'll get a key cut from Toyota so I can get inside the thing! Once I tow it, I'll be happy. Once i get inside it...
hehe ed. Well you can probably assume that since i haven't posted anything yet that means I don't have the car yet:icon_razz. The lady tried to contact the other party all day yesterday without succes; leaving mesages etc so that leads me to believe he's either ignoring her or way to busy. She...
