Depending on the car ...system and all YES it can flow so fast it does not have time to cool down before it re enters the engine.. I have PERSONALY seen this many many times..
Real race cars use a washer instead of thermostate and they come in all dif sizes.. from very small to very big holes...
I dont think he can use stock fan with it.. with my set up i have 1/4 inch from back of shroud to the nut that tightens the a/c ajuster pully.. tight fit very
but it works and ill never worry about cooling as far as that goes...
flip the thermostate housing around.. :} maybe
And i have a 3 inch aluminum rad i bought off summit racing.. was the bigest rad that would fit between frame and fit under hood.. I used a Flex hose on bottom...was a trick to get in there but works...
i have no undertray but have planed on building one as it needs to feed rad, engine oil cooler and trans cooler and front brakes...
but with no tray 180 deg no mater what speed or how hard i drive it...
the camaros and firebirds that have that 2 inch black air dam looking thing..Had many people come in asking why car ran hot on highway..
they had removed or tore off going over curbs that little airdam and would run hot..
What you can try.... is back flushing the system.... not very hard to do... yank the stat... just bolt housing back up dont worry about it leaking...
take hose off top of radiator... put garden hose in end heading towards thermostate.. duct tape hose clamps rags... you get idea... take and...
At highway speed its over heating...?
Radiator is pluged... and or no thermostate and the coolant is flowing to fast to cool down...
or thermostate is stuck open.....
Imho
You do not want to over pressureize your system.... Use a factory cap... Rasing the boiling point like 4deg by every lb is not what you need on your toyota.....
It does not help cooling.. it only allowes system boiling point to raise..
Well the amount of money it cost for a GOOD port and polish for the amount of HP gain is usally not worth it unless you have serious HP numbers in mind..
Now at the very least a good head gasket is going to cost more then the ebay ones.. like you said over 220 for a felpro gasket set and they...
