Blue smoke is oil and Black smoke is fuel. I am venting to atmosphere, but that wouldn't affect the oil burning, because it is not fuel it's oil. I am burning noticeable amounts when I check it every 100 miles. PCV is set up in the stock formation.

Usually a single click means that your starter contacts are bad. If you are mechanically inclined you can change them yourself. I'm not sure where you would be able to get them, but they are really cheap compared to a new starter. I would tear the starter apart and check those first.

Well, as far as I can tell mine is at 0 and that's the spec that both JE and Arias pistons have, so I don't know. I would think a piston manufacturer would have to know what the deck clearance was.

On a 7M you shouldn't have to figure out a deck clearance volume, because stock deck clearance is 0. So that would put you back to the 8.387 that you originally had. Am I right?

I have a torque plate and I am currently renting it to Rennat (see above post). It cost me a total of about $460 to have mine made. I would consider doing a group buy, but I think it may be hard to get at least 5 people that are interested in actually purchasing one.
