I haven't had any problems... however, I'm not exactly the usual setup, either, I have a Cusco rear diff *and* I use Motul synthetic fluid, *and* I change it regularly.
Your original ECU is indeed a California model.
Unfortunately, I've never actually dealt with one, so I don't know if there are any problems running a non-CA ecu...

I'm not so sure about that... look at the PC. I don't buy anything in media form anymore - it's all through a service like Steam. It tracks my licenses, installs games I want to play, finds my friends and tells me what they are playing, even allows me to join games they are currently...
