well I wouldnt trust that method as if at anytime JB welds cracks, por 15 comes off then rust could come back.....with welding if you butt weld the join nicely then a coat of por15, sound deadner nobody will ever notice its rusted out! Since I use my supra to go to work ive used some of that...

also pop riveting metal over the top should be only a temp solution welding in new metel is the way to go. I dont know about USA but in australia if you rocked up to the PITs/Roadworthy station they would knock you back for that!!

THis is quite common ive found 3 supras like this... my aerotop is ok but hardtop has a 5cm spilt...ive come to the conclsusion that its spot where alot of the body joins up and the thick application of soundeadner has cracked allowing water to seep in and RUST occurs........its not hard to fix...
