why do people run without timing covers?

Hell, I've got aftermarket cam gears and I run a cover... anyone who says its because they are "tuning" them... once they're set you will never really mess with them again unless you change your setup. It's more of just a way to say look at me.

    Twincharged.

Well the only problem is running valves like that you will get a dead spot when the valve rapidly opens, and that would be rather hard to tune around. The idea I was thinking of was using a high end servo motor to transition into boost. Sorry, no kit lol. There is just simply too much to make...

    Twincharged.

yea, I looked into all angles and I figured I would try this first to see how the car responds to it. The blower won't become too restrictive until I really start raising the boost, hell with the pressure ratios multiplying running 10 and 10 is around 28lbs lol. But I agree, running something...

    Twincharged.

The alternator is relocated to where the AC compressor used to be. Sorry no dyno. thanks! There is no bypass on this setup I'm running it as a compound setup. I have looked into running a parallel system with a twin screw though lol. Nice to see you too! haha but thanks though! Basicly I had...

    Twincharged.

It's been a very long time since I've posted anything but I figured I would post up what I've been working on recently. Everything has been fabricated by my friend chris and myself except for the manifold itself, I picked that up off a member on here over the winter. Although the manifold did...

    gm 3 bar map sensor

Not necessarily MAFT pro, but a translator of some sort, although MAFT pro is one of the more popular choices, I'm not sure if your current piggy back has provisions for an AFM delete.... I've never messed with that unit before. The MAP and the IAT are the sensors you will need.

    air flow meter ?s

Colder air has a higher density... so it will have an effect on your AFM readings, causing you to hit fuel cut easier. Have you checked for boost leaks?

    gm 3 bar map sensor

Now I do not know much about the AEM F/IC, but what you need is a translator of some sort; MAFT pro, HKS VPC, e-manage ultimate, etc. that will translate the signal from the MAP and IAT to a signal that the stock ECU can read as if it's using a AFM. If the device you are using is capable of a...

    starting/ running problem

yes, I traced the wires and changed the CPS, I know I am not getting any spark... just checked out the injectors with a oscilloscope and I am getting pulses, so I know I have fuel.... I'm not really sure where to go next since I have changed just about everything ign related.

    starting/ running problem

I have now stumped every local around with this problem..... The car started having some trouble starting, due to the neutral saftey wire at the bottom of the starter... the connector on the starter was almost snapped off..... put on a new starter. The next week I the car started dying at...

    turbo oil feed -an help

If your on a stock 7m oiling system you will not need a restrictor for the holset. A -4 feed and a -10 drain will be fine, and as Jon said, make sure your PCV system is setup correctly.
