Brian; You should just complete the 2JZ into your Supra swap...(IMHO!) Your Supra is very clean (IIRC?) and the 2J is an excellent motor. Then you can look for an already swapped SC300 w/ a 1JZ. I have actually seen several for sale in the recent past. There was a black one with 5Zigen FN rims...

No, I beg to differ! You do not have to lose the lock cylinder. I did the tailight upgrade on my old 87, and utilized the lock cylinder. I reinforced the back with some hard styrafoam. I sold the car a couple of years ago, but I remember it was working okay when I sold it.
